On the positive side, at least we can’t fight about games for a few months

Needed some time away I gave myself a week in a slammer

I’m surprised GG did get fired but you can’t argue much after what happen 😞 players choked but you can’t dump 20 players. Im most angry at Laf, Chytil, Kakko and Miller. All 4 of of them needed to make a difference, and none of the 4 did anything let alone made a difference. I think this a big reason why he’s been fired, the lack of development from them under his watch.

I’d say Boudreau is my pick of all the guys out there. I think he got a raw deal in Vancouver and he’s a very engaging guy (on the radio). He does cameos on Sirius during the week and I think the players would like playing for him based on that. And he’s had some success in the NHL, he’s my retread of choice

On the series, it was speed we couldn’t handle. Nothing to do with lack of physicality or jam, we don’t have enough speed. The teams being successful right now all skate very fast and it’s easy to forecheck that way. We want to forecheck but we aren’t fast enough to do it successfully. Even Boston isn’t overly fast and look what happen to them. Edmonton, Seattle and NJ are probably the fastest 3 teams in the NHL and it wouldn’t surprise me to see NJ play either one for the Cup

Please please please have a western team win it. With our luck it'll probably be Philly or Washington.

You are more angry at the kids than Zib, Panarin, Fox and to a lesser extent Trocheck and CK20??

The whole organization needs a wakeup call. As we've discussed ad-nauseum, they can't trade the majority of the core, and I think it would be unwise to give up on some of these younger guys yet. To me, that means that there is no way they bring in another players coach. It has to be someone that is going to kick these guys in the ass and hold them accountable when they play like they did in games 4,5 & 7.

It's why I don't see Boudreau as an option. For as good a job as Knoblauch has done, I don't think he gets the job either both for that reason and the fact that the Rangers don't have a history of promoting coaching from within.

If we're going retread I'd take Brunette or Lavs. For newer coaches I'd really like them to look at Spencer Carbery.

This is assuming Sullivan isn't going to become available, otherwise I'd want him for sure.

I’m giving Zib and Trocheck a pass since they had a tall task of stopping the two centers. They did a fairly good job of that all things considered. The secondary scoring needed to kick in and they got nothing, literally. One empty netter and Kakko made it 5-1 I think it was in game 2? Panarin sucks he should be moved but idk if that can happen. Fox has a terrible time of it, but I don’t really feel the need to slam him. They’d be really bad without him. The PP is general cost them the series after game two. 1 for 18, oofah

Kids were the advantage we had going into the series imo, and it amounted to nothing. So yea I’m pissed at them🤷🏻‍♂️

I just don’t see Knoblauch as the next coach. Dolan wants a big name I’d assume

Agreed. Personally, i don't care who the coach is. Just don't think this group is built for the playoffs except a few players. imo
- mdw7413

I can't say that I don't care, but I totally agree that this team is not built for the playoffs. But built right or not, the coach and the players share the responsibility for being ready to play and also in making adjustments.
For a coach to say he leaves the pep talk sort of stuff to the leadership group is ridiculous. At the end of the day the coach is responsible for winning games. That is their sole mandate. If your players aren't getting themselves properly prepared then you damn well step in and do your best to get them there!!
Thar alone is reason to move on from Gallant in my books. Add in that his only answer to opponents adjustments is to shuffle the lines and good riddance.
There's only so many ways to be successful in this game. Shame on all of them for making us believe and then not having the fortitude to make a decent attempt at achieving the goal.
That is where this team took me to this season.

if you had told me before the series that the Rangers would lose a tough 7 game series to the Devils, I wouldn't have believed Gallant would get fired

in my mind I would think it was a tough series and they probably lost a couple of heartbreaking games

but actually watching the series and just how inept they looked in those 4 games they lost I dont think they had a choice but to fire him

I want this so bad now, because this would force the Rangers to rebuild again. Maybe this time they could it right. Doubtful, but still hopeful.

You know who I don't want to win on top of Philly? Columbus. No way that team should be that bad. I know they dealt with a ton of injuries this year, but I'm tired of them getting high draft picks and not doing anything with them.

He only has 3 years left till ufa. They really need to figure it out over the next 2 years or I can see him walking. He was so pissed at his teammates for the lack of effort

this is the kind of thing that happens though, because Arthur Staple lists 10 coaching candidates off the top of his head it makes Jack Capuano a thing, which is silly

Patrick Roy wasn't even on his list

Right, not saying this is your fault. But he shouldn't be on this list at all. The fact he was is a huge problem with how certain people/media view coaches. Nobody with a functioning brain should put Jack Capuano on a NHL coaching search list. Ever.

Brunette is a possibility. Get the inside info on NJ and its system/players. That’s not a terrible idea

I mean if you really want to see the Rangers in a no win situation. Shesterkin and Allaire would need to leave. Imagine this franchise without Benoit Allaire? Scary.

I mean if Joel Quenneville's or Mike Babcock's name are circulating, nothing is off limits. The NHL has kept the whole Valeri Nichuskin thing quiet. Just par for the course with the NHL.
