The following two seasons he did better in the playoffs but that damn Tampa team and the (frank)ing Ottawa series that made me want to die ruined that.

AV lost that series. Had the momentum and lost it. God I hate this team. I really do.

Not sure how Rangers lost that series. Afterall, AV did play Marc Staal and Nick Holden as much as he possibly could when holding leads

No he wasn't the sole reason they lost. That's not fair. But he's a reason. Richards was better in 2014 than he was in 2013. They also blew leads in 3 games during the finals. Plus were on the wrong side of some crucial calls. It is what it is. I'll never like Rick Nash. But it's over nothing we can do now.

- tomburton99

I still believe if Nash scores in Game 5 and he should have - no way Rangers lose Game 6 at home. Then it’s Game 7 in LA

I blame AV and the shell defense he played in every game in the third period. They were caved in by LA. That plus Gaborik going there for nothing and SJ blowing a 3-1 series lead

You lose as a team, you win as a team. Kinda same sentiment with Gallant. Totally his fault? No. But he's responsible as the coach. Plus he's easier to move.

Pretty much what it always comes down to. Cant move 1/2 the players. I don't agree with it, but I understand it

Elliotte thinks Rangers dream candidate is Mike Sullivan but he would be shocked if that happens.

Elliotte believes Mike Babcock is on the Rangers radar.

If someone has an issue with Q, given what transpired, would think based on the chatter, can’t believe concerns would not exist with Babcock

Ok so me talking about the Rangers isn't allows. Me not talking abut the Rangers, also not allowed. Tough set of parameters you've boxed me in here. Gotta figure out a strategy.

just not a NYC guy, I don't even think it's a thing

article from last year:

But for all that, Babcock told a radio station in Saskatoon last week that, after spending last season as a volunteer head coach of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies, he has decided on retiring from coaching, full stop.

“My wife and I have discussed this a ton … We can do what we want. And that’s what we’re doing,” he said of retirement. “We’re enjoying it. We always said we were going to retire at 60, and I’m 59.”

As Babcock said in his interview on Saskatoon radio, he’s got a passion for hunting, water skiing and downhill skiing. He owns “farms,” plural, in Ohio, where he hunts. He’s “addicted” to the water-skiing course at his Michigan lake house. And if he’s not there, he’s probably in Vail, Colo., or Palm Springs, Calif.

“Life’s good for the Babcocks, and we enjoy it a lot, to say the least,” he said.

So is the theory/hope that Sullivan would get canned by Pitt and become available at some point?

yeah, Larry brooks threw something out that if Toronto gets ousted, Dubas and Keefe will get canned, end up in Pitt and the Rangers will be free to get Sullivan

Babcock might have been an bumhole, but he didn't do anything near the level of sweeping sexual assaults under the rug. I don't think those two should be mentioned together. One was mean to professional athletes, the other ignored some pretty heavy stuff.

While I agree, Babcock crossed that line of being mean and went into the abusive category.

Assumption is new GM and hockey ops team want their own guy. But like most things, Sullivan couldn't coach his way out of paper bag when it came to special teams in New York. Goes to Pittsburgh, wins 2 cups.

I mean the stuff that happened with Franzen and Marner isn't a great look, but as you said Babcock is a ignorant and spiteful. Quenneville ignoring actual crimes.
