Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will undergo a cartilage transplant in his right knee on May 10. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Brian Cole at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. The 30-year-old forward is expected to miss the entire 2023-24 season.

He may not ever play again. Marc Methot said on twitter he had the same surgery and the rehab was brutal and his knee never got back to NHL-level.

He played 51 games in the first year of his 8 year, $56M extension. Hasn't played since.

Stan Kroenke may have just effectively given him a golden parachute retirement package

Well, if I was the GM of the Ducks, Id consider a trade down. Having Zegras and McTavish already, this could be a good draft to maybe strike a deal with someone and load up on 1st round draft picks. One team to talk to potentially is the Yotes. They have #6 and #12.

Yea no way man, I'm taking Fantilli all day every day. He'd be the top pick in almost any other draft and would immediately become the best center on their roster. It's more likely they either trade Strome and/or Henrique or move some to the the wing. But it's fun to imagine a world in which we trade Laf + for Zegras and Chytil + somewhere else for a young cost controlled RW. This will not happen and I love Chytil. But fun none the less.

The craziest thing I saw was in the 2nd round. Detroit is projected to have 3 consecutive draft picks, relatively high 2nd round picks. 41, 42 and 43. Plus 9 and 18. They could potentially make an absolute killing this draft.

Chicago's 4 2nd rounders is wild too. I could see them try to use them to move up.

Not that, but CHI and DET could both use one of their 2nd rounders to move up a couple spots with their second 1st round picks. Although, all things considered and whats been talked about this draft, this may be a situation where quantity is more valued.
