Panarin isnt going anywhere, so you can just forget it. Who would want him??
- Brukie

Panarin Bedard Kane line in Chicago would give them some juice!! Maybe they retain a portion.

No doubt rangers are in a pickle at LW.

We have 1 RW on the roster and Cuylle and Othmann are both LW also. Something has to give.

Something has to be done about Laf getting top 6 minutes if we’re not going to trade him. The #1 guy on this team I wish we could trade is Panarin but it just doesn’t seem like it’s a reality. That means moving Kreider to the 3rd line with Trocheck and making that line a physical 3rd line that can score. Need to add a RW that has size and speed for that line to be affective but it’s more about doing everything possible to put Laf in a position to succeed before he’s officially a bust.
- nyrangers9479

Panarin is still a good player. He’s not a bum by any means. Chicago wouldn’t have visions of the playoffs just yet anyway, they just need some juice and get fannies in the seats. Bedard obviously was the key, now he needs linemates. They have nothing there right now to ride with him. I think Chicago is at least possible for Panarin, as opposed to say CBJ would’ve been getting Bedard

Panarins regular season production would be hard to replace. He’s just not a play performer at all. His style of play makes him a ghost at that time 5v5

Othman plays both sides. They should just force Laf to learn the right or make kreider the 3rd lw full time which probably won’t happen

I know you’d trade Laf but I’d rather trade Panarin. But they may have to trade Laf instead. I think that’s what happens, one of them won’t be a ranger next year

Maybe Laf to Mtl for 5OA..not sure if we’d need to add or vice versa. They can’t trade Laf for peanuts if they do trade him tho

It’s not so much about Panarin not being a good player as it is his 11 million cap hit.

When we got Panarin it made a lot of sense. We lacked skill and juice. Now we have all of that so he’s almost an excess of skill so he isn’t as needed as he was back then. The salary is obviously a problem to move no doubt about it

Yea agreed. They could retain like 3 million tho. Which would make it easier. I don’t even want assets for him necessarily. Just roster room and cap room is a win win imo. They can win games without him imo

The problem is that the majority of our skilled fwds produce mostly on the pp. we don’t do well 5v5. Haven’t for 2-3 years. That’s why their success wasn’t sustainable

Kreider Zib X
Panarin Trocheck X

Watching these other teams in the playoffs, they’re scoring “playoff” type goals. Driving to the net, greasy goals, rebounds etc. All our guys are worried about is making the prettiest pass and scoring the highlight reel goal that doesn’t work come playoff time. They’re soft and don’t want to do what it takes to succeed in the playoffs.

I haven't been up on the other news but I did look up the assault thing (Valeri Nichushkin, right?). Maybe they don't want to make a statement regarding an ongoing investigation? I mean, it still sounds pretty bad all around. The team just whisking him away etc. Is he still "missing"?

TJ you live in Panarins apt so you have his thoughts so you should know he wont waive his NMC. The Hawks are going to rebuild the right way, start from the bottom up with rookies and prospects and wont sign any over priced vets. Signing Panarin to "Speed up" the rebuild was a disaster, Panarin was an unknown entity in the playoffs and his Cap hit started the Rangers down the path of asset mismanagement with multiple buyouts.

Nobody will take Panarins Cap hit now, he would have to waive it and he wont waive it to a non playoff team who will be the only ones who have the Cap space.

Our only hope is whoever is the next head coach, he/she will be able to get more out of Panarin during the playoffs. Panarins sub par playoffs were under GG, coincidence or not?

Lol, this is exactly what happened to one of my best friends. He was drafted by the Peterborough Petes in like 1986. But, his dad wasn't around and he had no real support and just tried to get ready on his own. He worked out like crazy to get stronger and was so slow he got cut. Not before coming face to face with Tie Domi in a 5 on 5 brawl!! Said he was never so grateful as when a coach jumped between them.

Idk. Figure less said here the better. As far as Bedard. Chicago was able to keep that picks because "reasons". But when Arizona had draft eligible prospects in their facility for an unsanctioned workout, that was penalized in result of Arizona being forced to give up their 1st round pick. So where is the logic?

Why would MTL do that straight up? We'd have to add a sweetener.

Ive been talking about this for over a year and every time I mention putting Kreider on the “3rd” line I get crapped all over.
