They are so bad that unless they go on a huge spending spree (and probably not even then) they’re not going to be good for a while

I said it yesterday, theres no way Bedard ends up in a small market. It was either gonna be DET, MTL or CHI.

Well, the odds were in our favor since 3 of the 4 top picks were in the West.

Glad Columbus Philly Montreal all didn't win, but feel bad for Anaheim. Chicago probably next best outcome for us though

Funny, as I was texting my Ducks fan friend to say "sorry", my Kings fan friend texted me saying "thank God"

EDM has no one outside Draisaitl and McDavid. Hyman is having the season he’s having bc of who he’s playing with. Kane looks like a shell of himself. They need to get some cheap young players to play with these guys. They should start by trading RNH.

I feel like I talk to a wall when I say if you can contain McDavid and Draisaitl, and probably more importantly - stay out of the box… EDM does not have the depth, defense and especially not the goaltending to win games.

I’ve said for years they should trade one of them (obviously it would be Draisaitl) for a HAUL. I’ll use the Rangers only bc that’s who we root for (I don’t think this would ever happen btw) but they’d be looking at a return of

Laf Miller Schneider Othmann 2023 1st 2024 1st and probably more.

the only thing keeping this from being a perfect spring for Chicago was that Rangers didnt win two rounds so they didn't get a 1st rounder from Rangers and got a 2nd instead

but they have 2 first round picks, 4 second rounders and 2 thirds and over 40 million in cap space and Bedard

Really hope they talk to Breadman and see if he’ll ok a chicago trade. We just need the cap space not so much assets back. Then we can sign Laf Miller and maybe Tyler Bertuzzi? I know Boston lost but seeing Bertuzzi play, I think we lacked his kind of game in the playoffs. We don’t need goons or anything, but a guy who can score and drive the other team nuts at the same time. Slide him in on RW with Zib and Kreider

Bedard is definitely going to hit big. I was so excited when they got Laf. And his ceiling is 55/60 points max. Imagine if he was even an 80 point player

Even if he ok’d it, I highly doubt they’d want him and his 11 million cap hit.

The big problem I see is the available coaches aren’t that great and if drury doesn’t get this right it could set us back for YEARS! According to everything I’ve read about Knoblauch he might be the best choice.

Something has to be done about Laf getting top 6 minutes if we’re not going to trade him. The #1 guy on this team I wish we could trade is Panarin but it just doesn’t seem like it’s a reality. That means moving Kreider to the 3rd line with Trocheck and making that line a physical 3rd line that can score. Need to add a RW that has size and speed for that line to be affective but it’s more about doing everything possible to put Laf in a position to succeed before he’s officially a bust.

Laughing at the idea of Laf showing up super jacked and 10x slower than he already is. Gliding around the ice, trying to go between the legs to the backhand at 2mph

Lol, this is exactly what happened to one of my best friends. He was drafted by the Peterborough Petes in like 1986. But, his dad wasn't around and he had no real support and just tried to get ready on his own. He worked out like crazy to get stronger and was so slow he got cut. Not before coming face to face with Tie Domi in a 5 on 5 brawl!! Said he was never so grateful as when a coach jumped between them.
