well that kind of talk just indicates that you wanna bail out on Lafreniere already

and that may be the way to go, I don't know, but I think realistically, if they are hanging onto him, that's also one of the biggest questions during the interviews, what they can do to get lafreniere going

- jimbro83

But you can't make that the priority over the team as a whole. Bottom line, getting the team to buy in to a system and actually do what it takes to win is more important than getting one player going.

Can the same coach do both things at once? Maybe, I'm hoping they can.

Kakko plays that puck protection, possession kind of game though. Laf very much does not. Kakko looks closer to breaking out to me
- picklerick

its hard to put the Devils series out of our minds, but Kakko did have 6 goals in his last 12 games

well it's not like Patrick Roy doesn't actually have a decent resume to bring to the table in addition though

he won a Jack Adams already, he's a fantastic junior coach, might even win Memorial Cup this year

You're right about that. It's possible. I'd prefer him over 90% of that list Staple had. That list was dog shiit.

instead of Shesty having to yell at his teammates to get them going, Roy will be doing that

Nah that ain’t happening. They said it before the last 3 hires were made. We need staying power. You can’t fire Messier either. Would be like firing Jesus Christ

Vally's comment about getting in the gym all summer is so true.. Laf hasnt really grown physically since his first year. that female dog needs to bulk up
- mrn22

Strength isn't the issue, speed is. Plus the ability to use his skill consistently and not periodically. We saw signs during the season of him figuring it out but he put up a complete goose egg in the playoffs, zeros across the board. Last year, Gallant scratched Kakko in Game 6. West a heck of a lot more from him last playoffs. This year, Laf played every game, why? If scratch Kakko why not Laf?

I think his personality would grate on others but he has a solid resume and had to have been humbled by being fired and going to the QMJHL. Hire a few solid assistant coaches, actually implement a structure with strategy and maybe
