Only 8 of this 36 goals last year were powerplay. So not all just tip ins and deflections - TPC

I’ve been with u for over a year about moving him to the 3rd line. - nyrangers9479
And you are both obstinate about it even though it is ridiculous. This league is about results, not potential and nurturing. Kreider has 88 goals over the time you've been calling for his demotion. They are never going to limit the ice time of players who are producing in favour of players they want to try and "get going." That is a fan's fantasy. It's much more likely they will split up the kids in an effort to keep the current production levels of Kreider, Zib and Bread and coax the next step of development out of Kakko (1RW) and Laffy (2RW???) simultaneously.
Wouldn't mind seeing if Othmann can stick with Chytil on the 3rd line. He seems like his game could mesh with Fil's speed and shooting. |

Oh no, he's still scoring the majority of his goals on rebounds/tips. But that's fine. |

I know Panarin is taking a ton of heat from this years playoffs and rightfully so, but even if we were able to trade him to gain cap space (we likely can't), are we even a playoff team without him? We can talk all we want about how he disappears in the playoffs but he has 46 points in 57 career playoff games which is well below his regular season pace but nothing to sneeze at. I get he's getting paid the big bucks to produce when it matters, but the Rangers are in arguably the best division in the league and he has 341 points in 268 regular season games for us. You take that away without replacing it and this team is a fringe playoff team at best - SkjeiStadium
Its not just his production in the playoffs, its his play!! Bad penalties, lazy no, hustle and lets not forget all of his giveaways and turnovers!! |

if you see how TJ eats, you'd know that since Panarin and him share an apartment there is no way Panarin wouldn't be sluggish and lazy for playoff games

Panarin took some dumb penalties during the season but he didn't do that in the playoffs, so if we are strictly complaining about Panarin's playoff performance that's not a thing |

New York Rangers top prospect Brennan Othmann is one step closer to fulfilling his championship dreams after helping the Peterborough Petes defeat the North Bay Battalion in Game 7.
Othmann scored in the second period of the Eastern Conference Final to give the Petes a 2-1 lead as they eventually won 3-2 to claim the Bobby Orr Trophy. They will face the London Knights for the J. Ross Robertson Cup.

I don't think people are ready to talk sensibly about Panarin overall
I think 0 goals and 2 points in a 7 game series when he makes 11.6 mil a year is still way too fresh in people's minds

That's fair and I was in the same boat no more than a week ago. But then I realized that we'd have no playoff performances to talk about without him |

eventually most people will get there, but for the majority its still too soon
I was thinking about the overtime in game 3, Panarin had a rebound out in front that Schmid made a nice save on
if that goes in the whole world is different |

Laf needs more ice time to see if he can. He needs to be the man on the PP and top line imo. His stats suck, and is approaching a “bust” label because he’s stuck on the 3rd line. This is why I’d prefer they don’t trade him instead of Panarin. Panarin isn’t the future of the team. I loved the Panarin deal when it happened, but it’s quite awhile ago now and things have changed drastically. Give Laf another two years and see then. You ain’t getting value for him right now either. Cuyyle is what they need desperately next year, and othmann is the jewel it seems like so they can’t trade him
I’m hoping GG held him back in some way and now the new guy can unlock him. |

This is the last I'll say on it because I know it is still a sore subject that people are emotional about. Laf has shown absolutely no signs of being able to produce at the level Panarin does. Could he possibly get there some day, sure, but he isn't close right now.
There is no way that Drury says "let's trade our leading scorer and the 3rd player in franchise history next to Mess and Ratelle, to score more than 90 points in 3 seasons and replace him with a guy that hasn't hit the 40 point mark yet because he may get there at some point"
I know keeping Panarin makes Laf's life tougher but if he wants to take Panarin's spot he needs to force Drury's hand by dominating whatever ice time he gets and making the coaching staff give him more. He hasn't done that at all yet.
This team is exponentially worse without Panarin on it and Drury is not looking to take a step back from this years disappointment |

the only thing I have to say about this though is that there were reports out there after last season that Drury was not happy with Panarin and that was after he had a 16 point post season, so if that was true who knows what he is thinking about him after that debacle

I think if he can make a hockey trade (star for star) he would consider it. But he's not cap dumping Panarin is my point. |

He regressed this year but was still good.
Both can be true. - tomburton99
Kreider was great this year. I think you might’ve misread what I said or maybe I wasn’t clear in what I was trying to say. Basically if Kreider regresses a little from this year, let’s say he scores 28 on the 3rd line, but Laf is able to go into that 26-30 mark on the 1st line. |
