Regardless of my personal opinion, I have resigned myself to the fact that we're going to get Sheldon Keefe. Big name, and is experienced handling the media... |

He doesn't want to say who he wants because on the off chance that they hire that person then he can't say it was a horrible hire and the Rangers organization blew it again

How can you be bothered when I have an opinion and when I don't have an opinion? I don't care who they hire. 1 person is unlikely to fix the cultural problems that start at very top with James Dolan and trickle on down. The Rangers can't win with a former legend and known winner in Trottier. They can't win with a lax players in Tom Renney, They can't win with the hard ass Torts. They can't win with the hands off finesse coach in AV. They fumble (frank) with Quinn. Now they can't win with the breakdown of Gallant. I do not care. Just hire the right guy, please.
You can't get pissed when I say I want Gallant fired because he's not doing a good job, then when he's fired I chose not bask in the glory of being right. We already have somebody who does. I simply do not care, just win a championship. The organization as whole gets zero good will from me.

and because of this, the rest of us simply can't have reasonable conversations about the coaching candidates

So there isn’t one coach in the universe you’ll put your name to as who you wish the coach will be?

That and the entire philosophy has to change. Drafting, developing, and maintain skill have to be a priority. |

I agree, took me while to get there. They need an infusion of speed. GG or any coach would need that starting next year. We don’t NEED Panarin anymore imo. He was a nice shiny toy but we need to move on. Idk how that happens. Maybe Anaheim? He gets sun and fun with Bedard or a different top 5 pick and Zegras. No pressure to win in his last 3 years. Send us Frankie Wheels back! |

I think people get upset because when you have an opinion, it's critical and bashing the organization (not that any of what you said above is wrong) and then when the time comes to have a constructive opinion in how we hope they right the ship you have no opinion. That's the difference.
You say "this is wrong", "that is wrong", and then when the question becomes "what is right?" you say you have no opinion. It can be frustrating to have a conversation that way.
All that being said, I don't care whether you have an opinion or not and to your point you not having an opinion does not take away from the rest of our conversation. Although I will say that you commenting on a lot of people's suggestions saying their poor ones without having one of your own seems a bit disingenuous, but nonetheless, I agree I hope they hire the right guy whoever that may be |

Has anyone brought up the Quinnipiac HC? That was a heck of story he wrote for sure. He’s a Connecticut guy I think, as is Drury. Rand something, I can’t remember his last name |

Rand Pecknold. Great coach but hes been at QU for 30 years. Not sure he has any interest in leaving |

Yea that’s why I brought him up, I heard that too
I think that would make people happy at least (or that could potentially be impossible )
Thing is, Quinn was a college guy and that didn’t work obviously |

I don't have the answer. I'm not the richest organization in the sport with seemingly unlimited access and funds to make the right decision. Again, was Gallant getting fired 100% his fault? No. So me of that blame has to be put on the players. Also have realize that's it's easier to fire a coach then it is trade player x, y, or z. I don't care who they hire, just let it be the right guy please. The coaches being brought up by people is an indictment of the sport. Not the people bringing them up.
Let's role play this. Let's just say you want Sutter. Sutter has 2 championships. Has a GM and coaching experience. So he's a guy who's qualified.
Look at reports of the Flames players just had to say about him. They disliked him. That's not you fault for wanting a guy like to coach the Rangers. It's logical. But imagine Sutter coaching this team? You think that would go well?

What set this franchise back also is your top overall and 2nd overall picks not being able to
Score at this level. If they were doing what other top picks usually do rangers would be fine right now. We wouldn’t be so dependent on the top 6 to carry the load |
