Thanks for all the good wishes. I couldn’t even get excited for the playoffs even though I felt we would have beaten Boston line florida did. I have had three surgeries but am getting better. I still have faith in the islanders we desperately need a new power play as that’s our biggest weakness of all. I don’t too if coaching is a problem but I guess we need to wait and see. Also I know we traded our first round pick but it was protected I believe. So do we have that pick or no??
- kasperrko

No. We were protected up to the 12th pick.

Any sense in looking at Sutter to take over? I’ll be honest that I haven’t really kept up with his scene after LA though, so I’m not familiar with his level of success/failure in the recent years. I’m embarrassed to say I’m only asking because it’s a big name.

If they made a coaching change, which I doubt btw, I would love to have Quennville. I could care less about his baggage. Doubt it happens for the reasons I mentioned and there seems to be some rumors he’s going to the Rangers if Gallant is gone.

I don’t post much anymore since I’m dealing with some medical things but I believe everyone is up to be traded except the following. I mean you have barzal and Horvat locked up for a while and sorokin you can’t give up on. Nelson should stay as well along with pelech and pulock beyond that there is tons of room for improvement . I would love to have Engvall back as he seems to be a great fit. No free agents are coming here so make the trades needed try to get younger and faster and we will be fine
- kasperrko

Here’s hoping you well soon Kasper.

My “mustn’t touch ‘em” list would be:

Nelson
Barzal
Horvat
Pelech
Pulock
Dobson
Romanov
Sorokin

I’d move any and all others if there was interest. Prospects coming back being the preferred return.

I’d also throw the power play units in a blender. No more putting guys on PP1 cause that’s what “they're paid for”. (frank) that. Make it strictly merit based.

Yeah seems like a pretty sure bet that Quenneville will be coaching the Rangers next year, assuming the league reinstates him...which will almost certainly happen

I want Andrew Burnette as head coach.

Lacks experience, but his teams play a style that the Isles need to adopt.

I guess in a long term way yeah I would agree. Problem is we more then likely won’t have the right horses to run that race for quite some time.

Yep. It was only a matter of time until they reinstated him and this seems like what the NHL would consider the right situation for them to do it.

It does not matter, but Lou would have a tough time explaining another coaching change after replacing Barry with Lane.

"Horvat" was in my Twitter trends, and most of it was the same old stuff, but this one was good.

Never stopped him from doing it throughout his career. Lameriello has done nothing but prove, in his mind, that coaches are disposable.

Also, I’ll add that Lou is never worried about explaining anything. He just doesn’t explain.

Everyone is trade able, except Sorokin. Not saying they can actually find someone to take these players, but if they can, CIAO!

Horvat had even less excitement and intensity.

This is true. Lou just better hope I do not talk to Ledecky though.

Ad Block Plus and uBlock Origin both work 100% (in Chrome, anyway) for blocking everything. I haven't seen a single ad on this site in years on PC.

You can even use the block element feature to get rid of some of the website's stuff that you don't care to see.

I never said they would or even could be traded. Only that I don’t view them as necessary.

How is Palmieri only 32?? He looks like he’s my age, and I look younger than him.

Lee doesn’t give you a rise any longer or is the attraction still there without the production?

He will never not be my boy.

But if this past playoff performance is all he is capable of going forward, then he’s more a burden than a boon.

Wow Devils offense with 1 shot on goal in the first. Maybe the Isles players were pretty good against The Canes stifling defense
That includes Lee Herr Schwein !
