I think that worst possible outcome isn’t the Hawks getting the fifth overall… it’s if St. Louis or Nashville win Bedard. That would be the worst case scenario. Neither of them have good odds at all, but having to stomach either of those two dogcrap fan bases bludgeoning us to death for the next decade and a half is unimaginable.

Dubas? They’re talking about moving everyone, coach, GM, Marner, Matthews, Nylander, Tavares even the (frank)ing Zamboni driver! We thought it was bad on this site, Leaf Nation is 1,000X worse. I really thought this was their year but as Orville Tessier once said, they need to go to the Mayo Clinic for 20 heart transplants.

Whoever is GM next year will have to consider moving some of the core. Matthews and Marner aren’t clutch players. Tavares is slower and less effective in the playoffs than Handzus was. But he’s probably untradable. Nylander has player better than the three aforementioned, but he hasn’t been great. Reilly is a very average defender with some offensive upside who also can’t raise his game in the playoffs. This team is a mess …. AND I LOVE IT!

I still say that the dumbest move was signing Tavares to that contract and then to top it off, they name him captain. Which team was last to win a cup without one or two star defensemen? Maybe the Penguins. Reilly is atrocious in his own end, then you have Holl and Gus, ouch!
