Except you weren't.

Nobody thinks Kane was good. Bunch of my buddies that were just as excited as most of u were when we got him think he was absolutely a waste now. He stunk. End of story, just glad he won’t be back next year.

What about Sutter as a replacement? Won 2 cups with the Kings.
- nyrangers9479

I'd be ALL in for Sutter!! If players can't find their "own" fight, then Sutter is the guy to help em find it

Yeah right Jim, you were tops on the list with Panarin balls deep in your mouth. Its ok we will have another decade of mediocre hockey now with no Cup. 3 more years of great regular seasons and poor playoff performances left with Panarin.

Nothing they do this off-season aside from trading some of these big contracts will get me exited for next year. They can’t so I am stuck in purgatory for the next few seasons. Maybe 2027 will get better lol

Hope Edmonton keeps falling short. Mcjesus is a free agent same year panarins deal ends

I mean, if they hired him and they won the cup I'd volunteer for some personal sexual assault.

Absolutely spot on about the second most productive forward on this team.
- aecliptic

Yes, his 1 goal when we were up 3-1 already really made a huge difference. He was as useless as they come.

"They" I can compile the list of Rangers that scored less points then Kane in this series. Do you want that? Because that's gonna be a bunch of facts that show you're wrong.

Again, nobody thought he was good. Also, they didn't lose the series because of him.

I'll take a quick screen shot. Just ask babe.

This is the consequence of trying to change tactics way too early in a rebuild.

Gorton was building one team, Drury came in and started building a different one, and now they have neither.

Gallant will get about a third of next season before he's sacked.

I don't think it's crazy to say that without Panarin, we wouldn't have been in a position to get through the rebuild/retool as quick as we did and get to the ECF last year. It's impossible to say where this team would be today if we never signed Panarin, but we do know that at minimum we got a trip to the ECF only a few years after "the letter" went out. Obviously today he's not worth 1/10th of what he was worth to this team when he signed. Somehow the guy still puts up 90 pts in the regular season like clockwork but that only gets you so far, especially when you have a top 5 contract in the league. Would love to free up that cap space but no one wants that $11.6m and he controls everything.
- picklerick

But Rick isnt that the problem, rebuild/retool quick!!! This was the first rebuild the Rangers attempted ever, it should have been done correctly, not quickly!!! I dont care about making the ECF, what did that do for us?? That was more of a fluke playing with us against third string goalies. Now we are stuck with this guy whos track record shows he doesnt perform in the playoffs and next year, will be a year older.

Maybe he will perform next year, I hope so because without him producing, we wont win anything.

We were the darling of the league and everyone wanted to replicate our model of retooling over rebuilding until right now

I mean, go back and think about the game last night. In so many instances you had one Devil outworking 3 Rangers on the boards. That aint a coaching issue. A coach cant give a player a heart.
- mdw7413

That palat play to set up the opening goal was just pure will, maybe players think ok on the power play and don't feel the need to be defensively responsible but palat outworked kreider and fox and palat isn't exactly a speedy guy

And on the 3rd goal even though the rangers were pressing he made a key play to get it up the ice for the 2 on 1 by outworking on the boards

I'm still pissed dolan fired Gorton. Dolan wasn't committed to a long rebuild. It wouldn't be so bad if our entire team didn't have no trade clauses.

Gorton signed some of those NTC clauses, but yeah he was committed to trying to build something. What really sunk him was David Quinn. I hope David Quinn gets hit by a bus.
