not the time to trade Schneider, he's last year of entry level year next season at 925k

there isnt anyone you are replacing him with for that money

- jimbro83

Not advocating to move him and dont want too. Just do not think hes untouchable. Thats all

I tell ya though, I think K'Andre's trade value is very high right now I would listen to offers
- jimbro83

Yea and he has all the tools to be great. Just skeptical he ever gets there.

to me it comes down to the money, I don't wanna get rid of K'Andre, but I know he's going to at least cost what they gave Chytil, and if there's a good trade offer out there I'd hope they would listen

I guess I’m in the minority but I say we run it back one more time. Let’s give them another opportunity as painful as that sounds. I think this team has the ability I really do. I know the Jeckyl and Hyde play from them in the Devils series is alarming. I think this team is going to play with a huge chip on their shoulders and don’t think you can minimize that. Give Gallant the first 20 games next season and if they start 5-15 then can him. Still think this team has more to give.

As for Miller and his trade value what do you want to get in return? Are you identifying anyone particular where you’re like 🤔 this seems like a possibility?

Miller, Laf, and our 1st for Kyle Connor. Would you guys do it?

thats a weird trade for Winnipeg I think, and we are still top heavy with expensive left wings

but Kyle Connor would be awesome, the guy shoots the puck

There has to be some type of consequence for last season. The rangers went all in and failed miserably. I don’t think in any way can you just roll it back

A trade like that would have to be for an under 25yo 1C/2C.

As I see it, Trochek is better suited to either be the RW (and faceoff taker) on the 2nd line OR to be a 3C (which is where I see him ideally). I dont see Chytil as a 3C, but hes also not fit for a 2C role.

The team has good parts, but I think its put together all wrong. If we can convert some or our youth into draft picks and players that fit a better construct thats what I think is ideal.

Kreider, Ziba, Othmann
Panarin, ______, ______
Cuylle, Trochek, Kakko
Vesey, Goodrow, Motte

This is the lineup that makes sense to me in an ideal world with what we have. Cuylle to me feels a bit like Lawson Crouse, huge body that likes to snipe although I dont know if hes nearly as physical as Crouse. Othmann is a bit of a wildcard in this lineup since he has the capacity to play either wing although his preference is LW. However if we call him up I want him with that top unit. Throw him out there, guns blazing, and see what happens. This leaves a hole on the Panarin line, not sure how to address it. If we move that much cap and get a decent increase in the cap ceiling, maybe retaining Tarasenko is a possibility. This is my take.

To follow up on my above post. Lets say the salary cap goes to 84m. This team…

Kreider, Zib, Othmann
Panarin, ______, ______
Cuylle, Trochek, Kakko
Vesey, Goodrow, Motte

Lindgren, Fox
______, Trouba
Robertson/Jones, Schneider
Harpur

Schesty
Garand/Domingue

Leaves over 12m in cap space to fill those 3 spots.

You want to take another young forward (othmann) with no professional experience and put him right into the lineup? Given this teams track record I feel like a pit stop at hartford is the best course of action.

Well we have 9 games to play with when it comes to playing him on the main roster. Should we do it, maybe not but its definitely worth a look. But I also think everyone in player development needs to be fired.

I’d be willing to listen, but Schneider to me is almost untouchable.

If we trade Miller I’d want a young guy in return that has some nasty to his game.

Laf Miller and our 1st (20’s) to MTL
Xhekaj and 5 OA to NYR

Why does anyone think MTL would ever give up that pick in this draft

Now pretend you’re MTL would you want that? Maybe? Idk. You could get a game changer in this draft at #5

Smith, carlsson, or michkov are getting taken there and any of them could maybe be the #1 or #2 OA in another draft

I feel the same. It's like we have the slightest peek into life as a Maple Leafs fan.
