Yep, most disappointing part of this early exit is the fact we can't make many big changes to the roster. Long, boring offseason ahead.
- bonzo11

And next season will bring me zero excitement. I don’t care how good of a regular season the have. Unless the move some of these big contracts the same ending will happen in the playoffs

If a team offered you a 1st for Kakko or Laf, would you take it? I thought I saw a rumor earlier this season that NY was shopping Laf.
- SuperHenderson13

Maybe it's the disappointment in the early exit, but I would. Don't think they skate well enough or have the hands to be great players in the league. Just being honest.

The wild card is that Dolan is a fuucking lunatic. Who knows, Drury could be gone too when this all shakes down.
- TheMessiah94

Does he care? He has the Knicks now. Rangers aren’t relevant to him lol

no we'll now have the experience of losing a game 7 to help us win next year

Depends how far the knicks go. Dylan might be happy if they have a deep run.

Brutal night, brutal night. Worse than 2015. Then most of the defense was hurt and Zucc was hurt. Here, no excuse. Devils are faster and exposed the Rangers lack of speed. But the inability to adjust is the killer. Penalty on Igor in Game 3 on Timo Meier, which was a ridiculous call, kind of turned the series and it was all downhill from there.

Yep and it's really hard to get excited over regular season after last year's deep run. I don't believe in this core anymore. Think they are a very good regular season roster but can't win in the playoffs with their style

Id keep Kakko, theres a certain level of compete there that I think will keep getting better. LAF however, if a team wanted to take a chance on that, Id consider it if it was maybe top 15. Its tough to give up on him, but damn its getting harder to defend him.

Same I can’t remember the last time I was this disappointed after a season. I am going to have to take a break from this franchise. Only players that get reprieve from me are Kreider, Schneider, Lindgren, 4th line, and obviously Igor. This was a pathetic effort. I’m glad Vally is ripping them on the Post game.

He still likes the cash that playoff wins bring.

To many soft players that expect their skill to offset their lack of determination. I said it all season, those plays that u get the oo’s and aahh’s from don’t work in the postseason when the game gets tighter. Kane isn’t the reason we lost the series, but adding players like him at this point in his career don’t help you win.

I wish I could watch msg. But yea there is just no promise or hope for the future right now. In cap hell with no chance to improve the roster unless there is a dumb gm out there who takes our contracts

He got really exposed with his lack of skating ability this series. Also where was Chytil and his brand new contract he just got?? That line was more disappointing than anything. That line used to be so good at keeping pucks deep and cycling. That was nonexistent against the Devils.

Gallant on the disappointment of the #NYR    not coming through with all the talent they assembled:

"Talent doesn’t mean a thing... You’ve got to play together and work together… I love to have talent, but you love to have work ethic and more forecheck and stuff like that."

Lafreniere was practically non-existent. I think many of us have been patient but he's running out of time.

When I look at him, I ask what does he do above average. Is it his shot? No. Is it his passing? No. Is he a out-hustle everyone on the ice and a possession guy? No. So what is it that he does that’s elite? The answer is nothing, and when that’s a 1 OA pick, that’s a problem.

He can’t skate or shoot. Just don’t see what he can be other than a good passing 3rd line player. I mean those players serve a purpose, but they are also named Jimmy Vesey lol

Ehhh I think it’s easy to say there is no chance to improve but there’s always ways. Othman needs to be given a chance come training camp obviously. Panarin definitely is going to be a guy they are going to look at and say ok we have to shop him around. I could see a team like Anaheim or San Jose be interested. Just not sure what his NTC looks like.
