That’s exactly why I said what I said. HB and internet GMs are experts!
I did tell JS off the thread the Bs were going to lose. - nyisles7
Yes, but only after the series was tied 3 - 3.

Salo got a bunch of games from what I remember this season and his game started falling off and Aho wound up sticking. Dufour was so clearly not ready I don’t really blame them for not giving him another look. That may have actually hurt his development if they did. Durandeau got four games and looked ok I thought. Iskakhov will probably get a look this year if he continues to play well I would think of there’s an injury which I’m sure there will be. Believe me I’m not sticking up for their player development but I think these kids for the most part aren’t that great or haven’t developed to the point where they deserve the time in the nhl yet. - Cptmjl
The thing about Dufour was bringing him up against the Bruins. Like, what was the point? What were they expecting from him?

If Fasching is 775k a year, that’s a great deal. He has one thing this team lacks, speed. - potvin05
I think it’s good they got him locked up for under a million but he’s not really the fastest skater imo. |

I'm not stating play them if they are overwhelmed or not giving a good effort. It just cannot be quick benching like the past or play the vets no matter what. If the Islanders can free a bunch of Cap space and sign quality UFA's that would be fine but very doubtful it happens. Lou can want to compete for a Cup, but he needs the resources to make it happen. - ses111
Beyond injury fill-ins, I don't think there was a need or obligation to 'play the kids' to be honest. It was one thing when they were so bad that their season was over in early March yet continued to play vets. They were in the race the whole time and reasonably didn't feel any of the younger guys were ready for full time roles.
Salo was up early and played BAD. Bolduc showed some promise and got the call for the playoffs. The result was NOT good. I think bringing DuFour up at all was a mistake.
Most of the guys in the system are projects at this stage, so prolonged exposure might not only hurt their development, but their value as well. |

I love their officiating 'specialist' trying to say
"The hit drove through the core, so no penalty" while they show eight replays of the point of contact unquestionably being to Meier's head
Sidenote: Akira Schmid has been unreal |

I think Durandeau deserved to stay but Cal is a Vet so he gets the spot. It's just frustrating the other teams have much more speed and skill than the Islanders and the Islanders just cannot seem to address their issues.

I think the Rangers have some talent but I never thought they were as good as most did. They had some serious gifts in last years playoffs in the form of injuries to opposing goaltenders and players. With that said I was unsure of how the Devils would play with a lot of their lineup with little to no playoff experience. Guess we know now good for them. |

I did not think the Rangers had the necessary grit and I was not impressed with the Kane move. Kakko and LaFreniere have really disappointed along with Panarin being a playoff bust. It's all about luck and when you have those high picks. |

The problem is at this point none of these kids are going to address any of our issues. They are just not that great. Maybe some day but probably not. There’s a reason they are not playing. Hopefully they show some progression or one of them surprises but there isn’t a prospect we have that has earned a spot that was taken away from them this past season imo. I’m not saying he’s some world beater but who was probably the biggest positive prospect wise in the last couple of seasons. |

Again this is on the Islanders if the players are not good enough. The players did not just show up saying you are taking us. Maybe Lou should have cleaned house with the scouts and with Bridge? Did Charles give them lifetime deals like Garth? Lou's big move was Barry, but what else was done to fix things?
