What an embarrassing effort by the Rangers!

Brutal. Those guys they picked up at the deadline flopped hard this game.

I don’t do techy stuff. I actually had some technical reports to do but I just worked 15 twelve hour days in a row. I’d rather argue with and windup Vantel.

Did you really though? I could have swore I fired the first shot today about your comments about who cares about drafting 18 th and winding you up? I could be wrong though I will check.

Nope, I did fire the first shot. We will just pile this onto the big heap of things you are wrong on.

Perhaps, but it was fun and it killed a few hours for me.

TOR EDM SCF would be a nightmare, but because it's a disaster for Bettman

Kane looks done. Still has game left but at a really low salary.

I'm not sure he can be a passenger though. He looked awful out there this game.

Didnt he have like an 8 point series?

6 in 7 games... seems like a pretty good series

Even the one good game is better than what some of their core players managed. New jersey had a rookie goalie come in and make them look bad.

This is exactly what I said to IOTNW. They are making a farm team by other means and that drafting players and putting them in Abbottsford was not a priority.

But for the record I think any GM who trades five top three round picks in 18 months does not care too much about drafting and no one will convince me otherwise. I would say on a scale of 1 to 10 he has drafting at a 3 priority.

Yikes. And alls that I meant by my comment was pointing out how awful the Canucks history of drafting is. Most teams can get 2 NHL players per draft and maybe a 3rd one of the cusp that competes for a job.

But the Canucks historically average maybe 1/year and are one of the worst teams in the league for drafting. Sometimes we have drafts where it’s none. Our cupboards are so empty and our drafting has been so bad with the exception of maybe a handful of drafts the last 20 years, that I don’t think there’s any way this turns around quick without getting some draft lottery luck.

In saying that, I think it’s 5 years before this team is a playoff team, possibly 10 years to be a threat in the playoffs. But I like how active management is. They’re changing this losing/passive/country club culture. One day BC might actually have a NHL team again.

One thing management has done well (so far) is build depth by signing college and European guys. These guys might not make the show impactfully, and if they do more in a depth/bottom line role... but those players are also needed and it saves them from hunting guys in the trade market or UFAs. It also helps build a better AHL environment for the drafted guys to compete in, which is a big plus
