Owen Beck wasn't looking too bad either though, could turn out to be a very good player as well... - Pat1993
I'm not gonna pretend Beck was on my radar when the Habs picked. I was hoping for Luneau and Hudson (which we ended up getting later in the 2nd round as we all know).
I do love what Beck has showed so far, although I still see him as a potentially very good 3rd line centre moving forward. Which is fine.
Mesar's performances in the OHL are a tad worrysome but I still like his speed and adjusting to the smaller rink can be a challenge for some... but the really good players usually find a way.
Plenty of time for all these players to improve and show what they're made of.

and besides in terms of prospect defensemen the habs already have a few, they need to gather more quality forwards now as well.

bah, it's not the end of the world, there will be others. it would suck if Beck doesn't pan out as an NHL player at all and Luneau becomes a star but for now I'm not gonna be sad about this pick lol
