Tocchet...
“Your bottom six has to change the game, not always by scoring, but whether you keep the puck in the other end and making the other team’s best players play in their own end,” Tocchet said, emphasizing the need for Kravtsov to impact the game beyond the box score. “And that’s the key for those guys if they want to be an NHL player.” - VanHockeyGuy
I read into to that as skate with speed every shift & muck it up be a disturbance with tenacity. Let the offence come & let the next line benefit from the hard work. Doesn’t have to be pretty & score it has to be effective & the energy has to always be there. No shifts or nights off & disappear. |

NFL draft tomorrow
Seahawks are supposed to take Jalen Carter with the Bronco's gift.
I'd rather have one of Anthony Richardson, Will Anderson or Tyree Wilson at #5.
Watch a gun slinging GM at work tomorrow! - VanHockeyGuy
Carter be a great pick with the Broncos gift but Richardson could be a fantastic wild card choice.
Anderson suits me fine also. |

Totally agree. Something about the Rags being so poor at developing so must be an organizational issue & much more. - Nighthawk
Seen a lot of players in NY struggle as top draft choices.
In their top 6 they have Kreider who was drafted in 2009.
Third line is their 1st, 2nd, 21st for drafted players.
2 drafted D in their line up 22nd and 19th.
Can you call that building through the draft? |

Building through the draft but not extracting the most isn’t the greatest recipe lol
I like the Rags roster but it just lacks whatever is needed to get over the hump & be a true contender. A regular season good line up til proven otherwise. I like NJD & their team speed. They are coming fast & have great prospects. |

Draft day
If Schneids and Pete think they can make Carter work, then he's exactly what they need and legit blue chipper. I trust them enough to make that pick.
Don't want them to take a QB at 5 – you're either get a huge project in Richardson, or the 3rd/4th best QB option. Schneider has a good scouting history of QBs (Wilson, wanting to take Mahomes and Allen), but I think that's way too early for Richardson. At 20 is fantastic, not at 5 IMO.
Any which way, I think it's gonna be a great draft for the Seahawks. |

I just don't think the Canucks have the horses to play that kind of style (not to mention cap space) and instead of worrying about the bottom 6, maybe get the D to actually play like an NHL D rather than a ECHL one. |

Yup the focus should be on D & keeping the biscuit outta da basket.
Everything cannot be done in 1 offseason. This & next year should be more like it to get more pieces or by promotion. |

Some of the group in here got exactly what they wanted, the young wiener gone and a big punishing defender in return.
Would some be able to wait 7-8 years for him to arrive? Isn't that what's kind of talking about right now with Podkolzin and Kratsov? - manvanfan
Don't know lot's about him, not sure he's "punishing"? If he is...bonus! |

Look how BOS controls the play along the boards, that's how you win games in the playoffs. |

I hope he figures it out, he's still a kid but he needs to do the work Tocchet asks of him this summer or he's toast. |

Skill is all fine but all about how to fit in & carve out career. Skill doesn’t go far enough on its own. Skill always draws attention but fizzles all too often in the pros. |

Still only 23, but he's on borrowed time already in VAN. Needs a good summer, you should be able to tell quickly at camp.
