Kravtsov, 23, was not only out of sync with systems and commitment, he wasn’t expected to be this much of a project.
“He has just got to understand,” said Tocchet, who even gave the winger shifts with Elias Pettersson to get his motor running.
“He has to show us he wants to play. He’s good kid, but I’m not sure he knows the work level yet.”

Give him 2 more years to figure it out. Needs to mature a bunch. Rangers are bad at developing. |

Harman Dayal new article in the Athletic.
“Should the #Canucks be worried about Podkolzin’s disappointing year? Especially when Boldy and Caufield have emerged as future stars?
I found NHL comparables for Podkolzin. Here’s what they say about Podkolzin’s future projection and realistic potential:” - LeftCoaster

Tocchet...
“Your bottom six has to change the game, not always by scoring, but whether you keep the puck in the other end and making the other team’s best players play in their own end,” Tocchet said, emphasizing the need for Kravtsov to impact the game beyond the box score. “And that’s the key for those guys if they want to be an NHL player.”

NFL draft tomorrow
Seahawks are supposed to take Jalen Carter with the Bronco's gift.
I'd rather have one of Anthony Richardson, Will Anderson or Tyree Wilson at #5.
Watch a gun slinging GM at work tomorrow! |

I like that Tocchet has structure to his team but I don't like that he isn't willing to let players make plays. He was criticized for chip and chase in Arizona. I thought I saw for too much of it out of the bottom 6 in Vancouver.
They have players with more skill and size now, I'd like to see them use it to do more than just throw the puck in the corner. Teams like Vegas, Pitt, Colorado have had their 4th lines trying to make plays for years and had success. |

Tocchet say's it's a copycat league, so maybe he needs to take note if he has the pieces. |

I remember in an interview, McCann when he was traded to Pitt. During practice Crosby gave him crap for dumping the puck in instead of trying to make a play with it.
He was still doing what Green had told him he had to do to stay in the league. |

Looks like Patrick Johnston beat me to the punch about Columbus being a trade partner with the Canucks. As I had mentioned this morning before reading his article.

Roslovic retain 1m & draft pick for 3rds &/or 4ths is a dump imo. Not so sure CBJ will view it that way.
Idk about that or if he’d resign in Canada &/or at what price. Paying a 3C at what he maybe asks doesn’t look great unless cap allocation sees a big shift.
Overall it’s interesting & how if it happened would be an indicator of PA & staffs shrewdness. |

Bang on. They don’t come over here with good D acumen & the understanding there is so much more than wheeling around the ice looking to score. The details & drive & desire to all of the small things without the puck can be a big hit or miss. |

Russian hockey produces good goalies & D but when it comes to forwards there is a lot left to be desired. Imo it explains the WJC’s Russia doesn’t win as many golds as they could. Forwards are rarely well rounded & too often are projects. In Pods case he’s ahead of that curve but still learning to fit in & play like he can. He’s getting there but has to impact more & be consistent. He’s a coaches player but has to translate onto the ice. |

Some of the group in here got exactly what they wanted, the young wiener gone and a big punishing defender in return.
Would some be able to wait 7-8 years for him to arrive? Isn't that what's kind of talking about right now with Podkolzin and Kratsov? |
