I'm sure Torts would love to have a lineup full of Mayfields and Noseks. Those are the kinds of players he loves and would play the absolute poop out of.
But if you're Danny you avoid giving Torts those kinds of crutches because you want the kids to get the minutes and develop... you don't want Torts to ride the grizzled vets all the way to a #10-16 finish. - Tomahawk
Which is what would've happened if they had Couturier and Atkinson. The injuries have really been a blessing in disguise. Helped get rid of Fletcher and kept Tortorella from doing damage. |

"Briere should get the offseason started and fire Lappy. Time to get rid of some of the dead wood from this organization."
Lappy was warrior on the ice, but I never liked him as a bench coach or as the Phantoms coach. I didn't think he prepared our AHL guys for the NHL.
While we're talking about making staff changes, can we bring back Taryn Hatcher? I'm sorry, but Ashlyn Sullivan didn't cut it for me......

Who said that I did that? I didn't. Maytbe you think so? I have watched Mayfield for the past few seasons and noticed he was an UFA this year, and given his price tag and the need for the Flyers to improve their PK, think he might be a good veteran defenseman to fill that role. - jd250
That's right, because McAvoy really looks like a Norris trophy winner in this series with Florida!
You did EXACTLY that. |

I'm hoping she has an offseason to learn the game a bit more. Taryn was able to carry a conversation with her commentators and Ashlyn seems to struggle with it. Which is why Taryn got moved up to the bigger stage in doing Eagles stuff and not slumming down with the Flyers.

Glad for Taryn, but it's so frustrating that as soon as we get a reliably good studio broadcaster, she's immediately shuffled off to the other teams. |

He was on a one-year deal -- no cap space created - of anything he is costing them cap space due to performance bonuses |

What is insane is that Chuck felt the need to give him performance bonuses in the first place.

Not just that but easily obtainable performance bonuses. It is the clear equivalent of giving a player cap space that they don't have to give. For a player that at that point was no longer an every game NHL player. |

You’re not considering the amount he contributed to the culture of the team. 😉 |

I didn’t even know at Braun’s age and position on the team that this was a thing… |

Google says Braun’s bonus was being hired as the phantoms next head coach if they didn’t get out of the first round. |

Anyway, according to cap friendly it was a games played and ice time bonus. I cant even imagine what they were set at. |

The pro scouting (Brown & Co), analytics (Anderson & Co) and player development (Kjell & Co) departments desperately need to be cleaned out. - Tomahawk
Leight getting back, but yes, this too. Did they do something with medical and training staff ? I would even reevaluate the ice making gurus at all facilities if there are enough LBI injuries potentially related to the surfaces.

probably just because it is getting so close but there seems to be a lot of news about the top 10 prospects in this draft, make you believe you will get a game changer at 7. |

They brought in some dude from Aussie-rules football to fill a new player wellness VP position and made some other hires:
Ian McKeown was added to oversee the health and wellness of all players for the orange and black this past offseason, “McKeown will establish and oversee a comprehensive and coordinated health and wellness program for all players within the Flyers organization while working closely with the team of doctors and specialists at Penn Medicine,” the Flyers said in a press release this past Summer.
Former General Manager Chuck Fletcher also added Tommy Alva as their Head Trainer, Jeff Taylor as Physical Therapist/Rehab Coordinator, and Gavin McClelland as Data Engineer. The Flyers clearly acknowledged that there is/was a problem within the medical staff department, and these moves forced the move of former Head of Medicine Jim McCrossin to another role within the organization.
While McCrossin was reassigned to an "advisory" role. Meaning he was basically removed from his job during an ongoing lawsuit. |

Dvorsky with 4 goals today. A lot of prospects killing it in the U18 championship that will be available outside the top 5. |
