that sucks for the Oilers man - dmnted
I thought the officiating in the game was particularly poor - the roughing on Desharnais in the first was very weak, the cross check against Ekholm was pretty weak prior to that. The unsportsmanlike penalty given to Draisaitl was ridiculously laughable.
The call in OT against Edmonton was weak given the time of game, but you could argue it did take away a scoring chance by breaking the stick.
On the OT goal itself, I think Villardi does touch the puck, but I sort of have to agree with the NHL there - if you had a gun to my head and asked me if I could _conclusively_ declare that the puck hit the stick, the best I could say is "most likely, but not conclusively."
Goalies are interesting. Campbell was considered the "favourite" in free agency behind maybe Keumper and look how that turned out. Same as Vanacek in NJ. Hes not looked so hot in the first two playoff games.
Id personally stay away from Korpse for a long term deal.

Touche!
Saw the replay this morning. I was shocked they determined it inconclusive. Looked absolutely conclusive to me that it touched the stick.
Sooooo Leafy though. - Leaffrog
I have watched that zoomed in, from different angles, slowed down, sped up, blah, blah, blah - with nothing but vitriol surrounding it from Oilers fans - but using the naked eye with no plane of reference, you can't say the stick was touched by the puck. Even where contact looks to be made and the stick appears to move as a result, Villardi is moving is hand, so it's hard to say for sure.
The damning evidence in that is the rotation of the puck reverses after the puck reaches it's "apex" which means that it had to hit the stick - the rotation wouldn't change otherwise.
