Need a Dman. None of this BPA trash. - LordHumungous
The two best possible outcomes for this draft are Bedard or Reinbacher but both are long shots where Canucks finished. Lottery odds or straight picking Canucks will probably miss out. |

I don't really follow prospects and I am not even sure if this is the right Guenther but he has 6 goals 1 assists in 33 games. Yes I know he is 20 but it is not like he was burning up the NHL.
The thing about these missed picks that everyone talks about can be obtained when a team decides to keep its draft picks. Gunther was selected at 9 and we are selecting 11 this year. I am not sure the team is keeping it's pick or will build through the draft. - VANTEL
6g 9a in 33 gp
They had a chance to move the pick last season and didn’t. |

I meant to type six goals fifteen points (Typing error).
They have given away three first round picks in the last four years. Not something a team building through the draft does.
I know we all want them to draft but why keep hoping the team will do it when they are clearly not going that route.
Guenther has respectable numbers. A type of player that can be obtained in any draft year if a team keeps their pick. |

Woo going to be playing forward in the playoffs again?
Johansson joining, Juulsen supposed to be healthy. Keeper there.
Brisebois, Wolanin, Rathbone. - manvanfan
Abby has good D team but are lacking scoring punch. |

I don’t think they have been building through the draft for a while. They have one of the youngest teams in the league. Doubt they are going all out to get younger.
of course you can obtain a player if you make a pick… I don’t get it. |

Aside from the unlikely event they draft a player who contributes right away, what makes you think VAN cares about the draft?

They clearly have a dislike for 2nd round picks it appears. Their scouts must think it's a waste of time building a draft list.

That’s the point it’s long shots for them to get what they need so they will probably trade the pick if they miss out. |

Another undersized winger? May as well keep trading the pick. |

Put it this way accumulating picks isn't their strong suit.

This management group is a plus 1.
I’m a draft guy and I don’t want them making 10 picks in a draft unless they are trading one guy for 5 picks. |

I would say management has done an alright job so far. Little early but considering they were handed 7 years of bad drafting and then 8 years of not horrible drafting but horrible asset management.
Won’t know about new management drafting for a while but development and asset management has been much better.
Management told Miller that playoffs might not happen this year but to be patient. |

All the way back to Gillis they have been throwing the second round pick away

If you are referring to our previous conversation? Canucks ended up 11th, Buffalo and Ottawa have the chances to pick 3rd.

Juulsen is a group 6 UFA this year because he got injured Rick Dhaliwal reported though. Needed 12 games to be an RFA.
I haven't heard if there were contract negotiations on going with him or not. I'd imagine he gets a two way contract though. |

That whole Filip Hronek deal was weird, traded to VAN, sits out all games except one, then disappears. |
