If we lost that game because of that goal make no mistake I would be raving lunatic mad. It’s easy to laugh about it due to us winning. Still have no idea how he got that shot off with one hand?

Pretty certain Sorokin has no idea how he did it either.

Not trying to defend Bolduc but on the play you’re referring too it was a blatant holding the stick penalty on Suzuki that allowed him to do that. Pretty incredible that he was able to score on that play while clearly holding Bolduc’s stick that guy has some unbelievable talent but that goal should’ve never counted.

If he hadn’t skated down the ice at half speed, Suzuki never gets into that position in the 1st place. To be a rookie on a team of battle tested veterans and pull a lazy move like that still blows my mind. Suzuki deserved the goal. They’re not calling a penalty on that, regardless whether or not he grabbed Bolduc’s stick (which he did).

Wotherspoon looked pretty solid. I'm surprised he has not gotten more games. Dobson is still struggling at times so you know Bolduc will struggle even more. Takes a lot of games for dmen to get comfortable.

Bolduc will be fine. We won the game, he got benched, he’ll learn from it. He probably felt terrible about it.

Saying that, if Romanov can’t go, I would expect Wotherspoon because I guess he has passed Salo in the pecking order.

I agree potvin Bolduc should be good in the long run. It just might take a while.

If wotherspoon passed aho then why wasn't he playing in the most important games? I don't see them playing him over aho with as little experience as he has. At least aho played most of the season

Seems a fitting (possible) closure to Bailey's Islanders tenure that he finish with yet another Bailey hattrick. He checked four of the six boxes for a Bailey six pack. Of course, I'm sure he'll be in the lineup for the playoffs so maybe a couple of more 'sixes' are on the way

I hear you I probably had my face in a beer for the first part of that play where Bolduc half arsed it but I did see the part where Suzuki was literally getting pulled along by Bolduc’s stick for a few seconds it was that blatant even live.

Blackhawks will not be re-signing Jonathan Toews this summer, Kyle Davidson confirms.

Not overly surprising but still crazy to picture Toews in a different sweater. Or maybe he'll just retire due to whatever health issues he has going on.

Oh yeah he’ll be in the lineup for game one. He was completely non impactful for the most part throughout the game. Made a couple of defensive plays I guess he could hang his hat on that but Lambert will go with experience and Bailey’s past playoff performance until Bailey forces his hand otherwise. I don’t necessarily disagree with that sentiment in all honesty. Josh has had plenty of rest leading up to the playoffs and Homstrom has zero playoff experience while Bailey has a lot and a past history of success. I will say his leash should be incredibly short imo.

I’m not disagreeing with the holding of the stick. He definitely did it. I’m just saying, there’s no way a ref is calling that.

I may have been extra worked up because I was sober at work during the game, no alcohol to soothe the nerves

If, big "if", Barzal is back...he's gotta be the most likely guy to come out. There's really nobody else that deserves to get benched.

I did not have that problem.

As far as the non call we’ll agree to disagree on that. I get it takes a lot for a ref to call that particular penalty to begin with but with as blatant as it was and the fact that it lead to a goal I think it should’ve been blown down. It was that egregious imo.

Yeah agreed 100%. I just don’t have as much faith that he’ll be coming back by game one. Hope to be wrong on that.

I assume we'll probably have a decent idea by the end of the weekend. If he's skating with the team then I think he's playing

Glad they made the POs. Hoping UBS is loud and gives the team a boost. Obviously not going to be the Old Barn but I hope it’s better than the other cavernous new building in the NHL.

It will take 3 or 4 team practices is my logic so I think game 2 or 3

We still need dates for games so he has a few more days. Maybe game 1 on Sat but Sunday seems more likely with regular season games going thru tomorrow

I'd imagine they could conceivably have today off, skate Fri/Sat/Sun and then either morning skate Monday if we play then or morning skate Tuesday if we play then. Who knows.
