That's not the only really bad performance you guys have had down the stretch, no? Seem to remember quite a few but perhaps I'm wrong. I popped over here quite a few times the past month or so and the general mood was very bad a lot of days.

Pens have been without 3 and 4 starting d-men for long periods of time since the calendar turned 2023, at which time they were 4th overall in the whole league, including their best defensive one. When Jarry went down in the winter classic he was the top statistical goalie the full two months leading up to it that day..then missed 3 weeks....miraculous they are sniffing at the playoffs too. However, I still dont think they deserve them as a team. Some of the players definitely do, most do not.

Basically the mood on here the last few weeks after a win was, We are going to be tough to play against in the PO’s.” After a loss it was, “We should have tanked for Bedard”

I'll try and make sense of it. I'd say the Isles have earned exactly as many points as they have. Do they deserve to be in the playoffs? If you're watching them when they're on their game, the answer's yes, and they've brought that game quite a bit when their backs have been against the wall.

But, if you're watching them when they inexplicably crap all over the ice, then the answer's no, and they've done that quite a bit right when it seems like they're about to go on a roll, which then backs them against the wall again.

So, having it all come down to the very last game with the fans having no idea which version of the team is going to take the ice...I'd say that's probably a fitting end to the regular season.

Bailey with a goal and an assist tonight then?
Could be his last game as an Islander. Lane giving him a chance to redeem himself?
That line has been mediocre at best maybe this will get them going.

Yeah that makes sense.

Last night most of us agreed that for the Pens to beat a team like Minny the game before then lose to the 32nd ranked team while severely out playing them, not being able to score and the goalie letting in weak sh!t was a very fitting end to this season hahah ..its basically how most of the second half of the season went for them.

Besides nothing is cast in stone. Holmstrom could still be in.

Funny thing was I had no intentions of watching the pens game last night since I figured they would blow them out. I was more worried about the Devils game. Needed them to win so Carolina's game vs the Panthers meant something on Thursday. I turned on the Pens game after the hawks went up 1-0. Once Malkin tied it up I figured it was over

No Cup since 1983 and not a lot of success outside the two long playoff runs two year ago. We have very little to complain about.

I expected Bailey to play tonight and I’m ok with it. It’s not like he’s replacing a stud as of now. I just feel with his experience in playoff type games he was going to get the nod.

All I can hope for is he takes advantage of his opportunity and doesn’t disappoint.

I feel they will come out tn like they did against Tampa last week.

Also I am a huge sorokin supporter but I hope he is mentally ready tonight. I feel if he looks shaky and gives up a few softy’s I’m ok with an early hook.

Although I was watching from afar, Mathew Barzal looked like Mathew Barzal this morning.

He was celebrating goals also, as you have to practice everything.

The fact this is a home game makes me feel great about tonight. Crowd usually steps to the plate in these situations. But, UIF put it perfectly. He usually does.
