I was not sure about trading Romanov for 2 reasons... the first, the guy just loves hockey, works hard, plays hard - I like what he brought to the team. The second, we did not know if the other kids would look good in the NHL, specifically if WiFi could do what he did. WiFi essentially made Romanov redundant, in hindsight.
There were enough D prospects int he funnel hat the Habs could roll the dice with minimal chance of failure.
Still like Romanov, tho.

I like Romanov as well for the reasons you mention. I like Lehkonen as well. 2 gambles in my book, but sometimes you have to try and pull the triger.
Fans want to trade players they dont like or suck and expect to get a great return back. Its not the way it works usually. I wish both players were still here, they both fit the rebuild. But Im also glad about Dach and Barron and I get why those trades did happen. |
