they just committed to Pasternak long term for big $$$, they WILL get a good replacement at center, Dubois is most likely high up on their list.

Boston had better runs in the playoffs, but they did miss the playoffs in 2016. Caps did not miss the playoffs since 2014, so a longer run than Boston actually. Boston did not win the cup since they were back in the playoffs in 2017. They also missed them in 2015, so 2 years in a row. But yeah, that's not much time without being in the playoffs.

But at the end of the day, Boston did not win the cup since 2011. Caps won it in 2018.
