It’s more proof that you’re missing the point. A guy who works his ass off and plays with heart gets the attention of his coach and ice time. Every winning team has had this guy. What does this teach young kids? That you can have ND skill and get to play if you work hard. That’s a valuable lesson.

As far as I’m concerned the ND signing is akin to the Torts hire. Neither are long term but you have them setting an expectation for the time period they are here. Both as a coach and as a player in the rest of their ears. The inmates no longer run the asylum and this will not be an instance of young guys pouting until the coach gets fired. You either play or you get moved. In this 4 year window.

In fact, Torts has been very upfront with his effort over results assessments. He’s gone out of his way to let media know the results don’t dictate his belief that there was effort on a team lacking talent.
