You guys have some residual bias of Schenn's last time here in Leaf land.

He's been the quietest and most sound Dman every time he's on the ice. Mixes it up and defends teammates. Also, throws some bangers out there keeping opposing forwards puckered all game. Love him back with the Leafs and he's easily one of our better D right now.

As far as reliability and effectiveness goes this is how I see it:

It's 100% true - no player is going to say anything except the love the city they are in at that time and then when they leave they will say they loved it.

Most fans get that, the pain goes away - eventually.

Unless you are a NYI fan apparently the pain of JT leaving takes way longer and may never go away, despite the constant proclamations that they don't care.

Remember when Sundin refused to be traded and then went to Vancouver? Outrage and anger for a brief time from Toronto fans and then m'eh welcome home Mats. lol

Schenn will be welcomed back to Vancouver in a few years and all will be sunny out west for the 'nucks fans.

It'll be interesting to see what the end $ figure is that it takes to get him to sign a deal wherever he ends up.

Toronto has the advantage of being able to offer the 8th year vs 7 years for any other team and for sure he will get NMC.

If he stays awesome if he goes, frees up $ to MLSE to take a run at Mc Jesus 2 years later. Win/win? lol
