Hopefully Horvat gets going now and he starts putting a few in. - Cptmjl
He's working his way up. ENG, shootout goal...next maybe he gets one on a goalie while a game is being played |

Panthers versus the Habs tomorrow
Pens versus the Nashville Junior Varsity
I wouldn't expect any help there - keaner17
Nashville could surprise a little. They're pushing for a playoff spot and they just beat Boston, holding them only to a goal. If Saros plays well, they can beat PIT.
Definitely not expecting much out of the Habs, but at least FLA is on the 2nd game of a back-to-back. That's about the only thing we've got going for us there.
This weekend is brutal for the Isles though. I'd be happy with 2pts out of it. |

Yeah, I'm not sure how much of a 'push' I would call it. They're 5-4-1 in their last 10. They've been outscored 32-24 during that stretch. Their wins came against Boston, Seattle, Buf, Det, Anh. I wouldn't count on much help from them, though I guess you never know. Montreal has kept their games tight and beaten a couple of good teams themselves. Regardless, I'm not expecting help from either.

Well, we're not paying him that until next year
I think if anyone is expecting that we traded for a 35goal PPG guy, then they may as well end up seeing him as just that (bust). It's hard to say what he'll put up if he gets a full season with Barzal. He clearly is a guy who, when given space, can get off some real sniper shots. Barzal is a guy who creates a lot of space for others and can get them the puck when no matter where they are, so they are a wonderful fit for eachother.
What Horvat is NOT is a guy who will carry them on his own, or overwhelm a defense with his speed/agility. So for now, he's in a bad spot on a generally undertalented forward corps. Regardless, he has utterly dominated in faceoffs, which for a possession-dependent team like the Islanders has been huge. If he starts scoring some again, all the better.
I will say that a few years ago Nelson's salary of $6m looked big for a guy like that but his production and the market make that look like a massive steal now. I have no idea what $8.5mm will look like in a few years. |

Yeah I didn't mean "pushing" as in they're surging, but they're motivated and not sitting way outside and just waiting for the season to end. They have something to play for as opposed to just trying to get to the finish line.
Certainly not expecting either to do anything, but looking forward to seeing what happens tonight. |

Helluva hit by Ovie but his hands came up in Pelech's face. If this were a game full of penalties, that might have gotten a roughing call - keaner17
Should have been a boarding call on Ovie given the distance from the boards.
Boarding is the action where a player, pushes, trips, or body checks an opponent causing them to go dangerously into the boards. |

No way they would ever have called a boarding call there. |

No one should feel overly confident about this final stretch. The Isles still have a tough path to the playoffs |

Yep, despite our standing, this is still really close and I'm plenty worried. |
