I mean, they essentially gave up 3 1st and some B prospects. They gave up their 2020 1st round pick, then 23 and 24 1sts. - nyrangers9479
The 2024 1st round pick has like 5 conditions placed on it (very difficult conditions to meet as well), which could push it back to the 2025 1st round if it even gets met.
Zetterlund, seems like a B+ prospect. Shakir which who knows if and when he will leave Russia and if his game will translate in the US.
Plus Meier is an RFA so if things go awry, they could always trade his rights and recoup something. Gotta figure in a sign and trade his rights would be worth a 1st round pick. |

Hughes is small and injury prone. Have to hit him early and often the first 2 games of the series and soften him up/make him uncomfortable out there. I’m in no way saying dirty, I’m just saying every opportunity you get to hit him, you take it. - nyrangers9479
He has 40 goals this year. |

I think the point is he has figured out how to elude being hit, similar to other successful smaller players. Couple that with his immense speed and talent. I don't think that it's as simple as throwing some hits his way because we're gonna miss. And if we miss it's gonna hurt |

I'm sure coaching staffs have emphasized being physical with Hughes. Seems like he's figured out how to be productive. |

Ah, well good for him. We wont really know the ramifications of this trade for around 5 years and we see what comes of everything traded.
However for a team thats absolutely stocked from top to bottom with prospects and to not give up any of their best ones for Meier is pretty impressive. |

Look at Kane in his prime. You could try to hit him, but if you miss, youre gonna get burned most of the time. What ends up happening is Kane uses his skill to make you miss, you now end up out of position and out of the play for a second, Kane steps up into the spot you just vacated and hes either gonna pull another defender to him opening someone up or he stays open and shoots. Elite players like him make these decisions in a fraction of a second which is what makes them who they are. |

home ice gives the team something to play for. playing to not get hurt and working out kinks isnt a great idea. but giving the bottom 6 & 3rd pair extra minutes to not wear down the top players is key too. may not be a bad idea to put Lindgren on LTIR to allow room for a call up in case of nagging injuries and fatigue. |

Honestly, if they want to play Lindgren, they should limit his minutes and play him on the 3rd pair with Schneider. Mikkola has done a fine job playing with Fox in the mean time, no reason to rush it at all. |

I saw Lindgren practiced yesterday so doesn’t seem like that will happen. He had a Q tag for tonights game this morning |

No reason to play him at all if his shoulder is that much of problem. I don't LTIR is the answer. |

Rangers could very well win this game 10-1, or lose it 2-0 Hutchinson in net and their most experienced D man has 185 NHL games |

I'll catch up with you all in the morning.
On the ice for Ringette practice with the kid in an hour and then straight to my final hockey game of the season (because we suck and won't advance). |

I just lost my playoff game the other night too...after a few beers in the locker room we all said our goodbyes..."good season bud...see ya in 2 weeks"
