The Devils have 7 of the top 100 players in the league in GSVA this season, including 3 in the top 20. Jack, Nico, and Dougie are the 3 in the top 20, and the remaining players inside the top 100 are Bratt, Timo, Tatar, and Sevo. This teams core is going to be so good for so long.

Updating this, the Devils now have 8 players in the top 100 as Mercer is now up there too.

Hey I don’t mind it. I just come here for Devils news and don’t bother with anywhere else. Vlongo has me covered lol.

Just don’t know where we fit everyone, assuming Luke, Nemec and Casey all develop into top 4 dmen. Dougie isn’t going anywhere, Marino is super solid, then you have Bahl, who took substantial strides this year. Maybe Siegenthaler or Marino eventually get traded in a couple years.. even though they’re only 25 and just hitting their primes now. Maybe Graves just signs for 2 years until the ELCs are up for these kids. Severson is obviously gone.

Siegenthaler-Hamilton
Hughes-Marino
Bahl-Nemec
Casey?

If we re-sign Bratt and Meier, the same goes with the forward group, especially with Mercer looking good. Who knows what Holtz will amount to.

This all further amplifies why the Palat deal was and will be stupid, unless he scores some playoff series-winning goals. 6M for a grinder on the downside of his career.. for 4 MORE years. I’d MUCH rather keep Tatar over Palat, and have him for 2 mil less and a year less term.

My favorite is that he has to remove parts where you acknowledge me. The dude is mentally ill.

Damn, Jackets are playing Hutchinson in net tonight. Wanted to see the most obvious Jon Gillies revenge game where he saves 5 goals above expected and shuts us out for the first time this year, after being a total sieve and unable to stop a beach ball for us last year lol.

No Haula on the ice for morning skate, and Vanecek is in the starters net. Lines:

Tatar-Nico-Mercer
Palat-Jack-Bratt
Meier-Boqvist-Bastian
Wood-McLeod-Sharangovich

Bahl-Dougie
Graves-Marino
Siegs/Smith-Sevo

- vlongo4419

Siegs is out, Smith is in. Sharangovich/Haula are both in, Bastian is out.

Jack closing in on Patty. 2 more points to tie the franchise record, 3 to break the record.

6 more to hit 100, still on the table.

I like that they've given him his own line at this point. Give him two guys that are going to let him control the play and let him go to work.

I hope it continues into next season, at a reasonable price that is.

Not sure we need him tho. He’d be stepping into absolute peak levels of hockey.. the most intense and most skilled it’s ever going to be. We have Smith as a 7th D. Maybe we bring Luke as the 8th? Get him in a game before playoffs? Idk.

Yeah, Fitz said the plan is to get him to the Devils and into game action as soon as possible when his season ended. So he'll probably play in 1 or 2 of the final 2 games. No idea if he plays on the playoffs though, guess it depends how quickly he adapts and gets comfortable. But just being with the team and practicing will be nice for him either way.

It is going to be interesting as I am not sure where he would fit in or if it is best to put him in

I know they may want to rotate a little like siegenthaler rested last night

I know people say makar stepped in for Colorado in the playoffs, just not sure what the best thing to do is especially since we have no idea how ready he is and it is a gamble in the playoffs when things are ramped up even more

Hamilton
Graves
Marino
Severson
Siegenthaler

Guess he takes bahl/smith spot but just seems that there's a lot of puck movers and more offensive minded dmen and may have trouble once the other team has set up moving people out of the front of the net etc

That's why I'm not the coach haha
