Rangers getting home ice. Devils slumping and could lose their next two, Sens and Isles
Do we want home ice, do we care? |

I think we'd rather have home ice of course, but against the Devils I think its important because Jack Hughes is that good and being able to control the matchups against him is important
(on a side note, I think Tom takes saturdays and sundays off from hockeybuzz so its nice to have freedom to make a hockey point without getting trolled by an absolutely miserable bastard) |

But yeah, Hughes is legit and will be a pain for the next decade+. I think home ice would be very big in that series.
They need to fix this playoff format.

I was kind of thinking about it like the Rangers really need to win this now like in 1994, because the Devils could have 3 Cups in them like they did in 1995, 2000 and 2003
they are really good now and Luke Hughes and Simon Nemec arent even here yet, its kind of frightening
but on the flip side, I think the Rangers have much more of a chance of being successful the next decade too and wont fall apart like they did after 1997 |

Just gotta start drilling Hughes into the boards and putting a body on home all game all series long. |

his first two years he looked like he was going to be too fragile to survive, but he's really learned how to avoid getting hit this season, kind of like Panarin

Could be a bunch of goals today! Possibly for both teams, but I’m going 6-3 rangers |

Florida so much easier to play against than Carolina.
I hope the Staal brothers don’t take warm ups again because they totally played like ass the other night in their must win game. |

Bruins Tampa just started with fights immediately on opening faceoff. A little crazy. Maroon and Hathaway threw down pretty good. |

I'm not sold that Hughes is going to hold up in the much more physical playoffs. He is a GREAT player no doubt, but he has never played an NHL playoff game, yet alone a series. He is still only 21 and hasn't fully developed his frame yet...
I can't believe that the owners are going along with this stupid format. The bottom teams making the playoffs have a better chance of advancing to the 2nd round over higher seeds. Only in the NHL.... |

The devils core really is unreal I hate to say it. I think the Sabres can get to that point as well

Tarasenko was already gone for the Blues. I’ll keep an eye on Mikkola and see how he develops. Blues were not going to pay him though |

I was really wrong on Tolvanen. I thought he was like Kravstov is proving to be. Good for him turning his career around. |

It makes no sense. He may have been the worst player to ever don a Rangers jersey |

Was going to comment on Jim's post about that. Play Trouba against Hughes every opportunity and we'll find out how Hughes fares. |

I like Mikkola's game so far. Was he solid for you guys?
As for Sammy, I'm glad he's healthy and lighting it up for you. Would have liked to see his game if PK Slewban didn't take him out. Honestly thought he was done as a player. |
