Columbus wins SJ last all three closer at the bottom.

Yeah, now can they call Luke in for the "talk?"

After the posts here I went back and watched the entire Colgate vs Michigan game, and Nazar scored.

It is nice to see so many first rounders and the couple of guys who will get taken pretty quick in Fantelli and Gavin Brindley.

Their next game is Sunday 5:30 central on Espn 2

I am hoping I get to see Frankie nazar in Tampa for the final four...

Maybe he will have Bedard as a linemate? And he is not from Arizona, either.
- bjphawkfan

The possibility of Bedard as a line mate could happen in Arizona too. He will get the same opportunity to play in Arizona as he would in Chicago. So I'm not sure why he'd do it.

Didn't they lose half the team after the 1st cup because of the flat cap???

I was thinking the same thing

Hawks sign Paul Ludwinski, 2022 2nd round pick, to an ELC. Probably one more year in juniors for him.

Was the cap flat in 2011/12/13?

Maybe not flat but very low. The cap started at 39 million so it wasn't much more than that

Last yr in 20 more games Ludwinski only scored 16 goals.... IIRC he was injured a bit this yr, maybe was never fully healthy?

He was the 39th overall pick and it seems he was drafted cuz he's a centerman, high motor/IQ 2 way type not so much for his offense. ... Kid had a tough yr with only 34 in 47 and a -11. https://www.eliteprospect...yer/603788/paul-ludwinski

I’ve seen him play live twice this season and I have the tickets to see him tomorrow evening when Kingston is in town. Great skater, fast, good edges, he’s good without the puck, good positioning, he’ll get involved physically but … offensively he doesn’t seem to be in the right place, he doesn’t go to the net most of the time, for whatever reason he’ll be physical without the puck but plays a perimeter game with possession in the offensive zone. Lots of good attributes but I’m not sure he thinks the game well.

Beauuuuuuuutiful, Kaiser dresses again! Kid is so damn poised, unhurried, makes excellent decisive decisions. ...... Stalock in goal and we get lucky and MN starts their #1, Gustafsson.

SJ ties it at 3 with CAL, 1/2 thru.

Very helpful post, Paul.... Looks like the Hawks coveted centers with speed, compete and motor...... You mention Ludwinski doesn't think the game well. Is that in all 3 zones or just offensively?

Oddly he doesn’t seem to think offensively but defensively he’s pretty sound. He kills penalties and anticipates well defensively. When he has the puck in the defensive zone he’s adept at getting the puck out but in the offensive zone he’s a dead end. My buddy, a huge Leaf fan, remarked that he reminds him of a more physical David Kampf. Not a bad guy to have as a depth role player.

When defending in the final few minutes of a tied game, do not let your opponent get behind you. Always keep your self between the opponent and your net.

I learned that when I was 7 years old.

There's a reason Murphy's only playoff experience was in the COVID bubble.

A fine team effort wasted.

Hope the Hawks don’t get Bedard if they end up with the worst record. No one should get rewarded for trying to lose.

Ya I rather win some meaningless games down the stretch of a long lost season, then get the best possible odds of acquiring a likely franchise changing player . .Win or lose the kids are getting their feet wet in the NHL. And kids like Reichel Raddysh Guttman Korchinski Del Mastro Roos would be pretty excited to know Bedard will be skating with them at next year training camp .NO guaranties in life but having a 25% chance is better then a 13 %or worse chance at this kid . HAWKS don't make the rules.

I would rather win then lose. There is no guarantees in life. Is Bedard allowed to skate with a bubble on so that nobody touches him.

Need a 3-point outcome from the CLB-MTL game. A MTL win will all but cement a bottom-4 finish for the Hawks.

Looking ahead to each of the bottom 4 schedules for the last 10 games of the year:

ANA - @ARI, vs. VAN are the two most winnable games on their schedule (6H, 4A games)

Average opponent point total: 82.8

__________________________________________________________

CHI - vs. VAN, vs. PHI are the two most winnable games on their schedule (6H, 4A games)

Average opponent point total: 80.8

__________________________________________________________

CLB - @PHI is the most winnable game on their schedule (5H, 5A games)

Average opponent point total: 88

__________________________________________________________

SJ - @ARI is the most winnable game on their schedule (5H, 4A games)

Average opponent point total: 85.6

__________________________________________________________

So by the math, Columbus has the most difficult schedule remaining, while the 'Hawks have the easiest schedule remaining.

We're really gonna need some puck luck these next couple weeks, but I'm not feeling optimistic about our chances.

My optimism has been waning for some time now but the last couple games have reignited my hope they can squeeze into that last spot . It will not be easy as you have shown .Tonight pullin out a regulation loss was critical
