Still holding out hope. Hopefully the Caps come out for blood after losing to the Jackets a few nights ago. They really have no margin for error to try to make things interesting from a playoff push standpoint.

They sure did

Was watching the NCAA game with Minny tonight. Logan Cooley is one hell of a hockey player. Would love to see him spend all four years in college and then come out and sign with the Hawks.

Why would he do that? Is he from Illinois?

Rostislav Olesz = GOAT.
- DarthKane

I vote for Nick Boynton. The only man to be on the SC without playing a regular season NHL game that year.

Just got home - checked in and it’s 6-1. Was the game better of worse than the score indicates?
- Chief4Feathers

Mitchell was better than his last game.

Real good video here by The Hockey Guy on how the Blackhawks built the 2010 Cup team and whether or not blowing up the whole team and tanking is the smartest move, and how later round picks are just as important as those top 10 picks:

lets hope we have a decent scouting staff. with the draft capital that KD has build should hopefully be able to hit on a few later round picks.

I’d like to see him in net the rest of the year, as it would be nice to finish second to last behind the BJ’s, nobody is catching them.

I thought we may have a chance to catch CLB but now Patrick Liane is out for the year ,of course he is .They know how to tank in CLB ,they make it look so easy .

To me, he seems like he would not be a good teammate (have no insight on this). If that is true then maybe they start to play better.

Remembering the 2018 Winnipeg Jets Cup window closure:

After years of bad, they drafted excellent Jet prospects because they could.

and then quickly decisions needed to happen on who will stay and who will go.

Theredefense was big Buff (making big bucks), Trouba, Morrissey, Tyler Myers,Ben Chiarot and D. Kulikov

Laine, Kyle Conner, Morrissey, Nikolaj Elhlers, Jack Roslovic around "vets" Wheelr & Schieifele all views as the keepers, and then they were in a position to pay of trade/let go Trouba. Bye
The after no consistency Laine, then the dike broke.

Just saw theHockey writers NHL mock draft published 3/22/1950 (correction: 3/22/2023[/b)]and if their predlictons are close to accurate they come away with so many of my favorite prospects...

Maybe he will have Bedard as a linemate? And he is not from Arizona, either.

Thanks for posting, DH. This guy did a decent job of going back over the Hawks building up to the cup yrs and my takeaway is you need so many things to go right and a lotta luck. But without the elite talent the 3rd and 1st overall picks brought not sure they win 3 cups.

It was different time though. The flat cap is making consistent success almost impossible something the Hawks didn't really have to deal with early in the cup runs.

I do think you have to hit rock bottom in today's NHL. Rado is a good example but look at BUF, NJ, NYR with lottery luck, all teams on the come that hit near rock bottom. OTT too.

For every BOS who stays up there without rebuilding you have VAN, PHI, NSH, NYI and now seemingly WSH too who have varying degrees of success but won't draft high enough for a difference maker.

No, I think the Hawks are doing the right thing with the tank hoping for a little lottery luck.

I agree ,to me the tank is overdue. I also believe building from the net out is idea ,and funny but if we were fortunate enough to land Bedard Seth Jones becomes a very useful Gog . And if that fell in place would the HAWKS be thinking of FA year after next Maybe sign a goalie although that can be dangerous.

Didn't they lose half the team after the 1st cup because of the flat cap???
