hasn't had the kid yet.

Due any day now.

- Atomic Wedgie

Even more reason for him to not be there and playing. Damn.

I really have got to question Keefe and his decision making. It seems to be getting worse here.

Wow.
Embarrassing

- Fakepartofme

You know what's embarrassing?

Leafs Nation tonight.

With that horrible loss to a desperate team, we are now only on pace for a 109 point season.

We're currently 4th in the league.

Our magic number is 18 to lock up home ice advantage in the first round.

That means that if we go 7-5 for the rest of the year (58% win% - we are currently at 66%), then Tampa needs to go 8-1-1 (85% - they are currently at 63%) to catch us.

And we are doing this without a recent Conn Smythe and Selke winner, who is coming back soon.

But forget about everything I just typed - let's hear how this is a terrible team, our defence sucks (5th in the league in GA/GP), our goalies suck, this team has no heart, they can't win, waffles, Courtnall for Kordic, Yolanda Ballard, waffles.

Seriously, you motherBozakers, this is why we can't have nice things.

Yeah, well you know who else can't have nice things...
uh, I don't know where I was going with that.

Meh, this is seriously garbage, rest, and don't get injured time.

Which one of these things was most prominent during the 7-2 loss tonight do you figure. 🤔

It's equally annoying how no one is supposed to acknowledge an ugly blow out loss because the season as a whole has been decent.

We haven't had nice things in 56 years. We've watched more than one team post regular seasons similar to what you just listed come up empty. What part of that literal lifetime of failure makes a leaf fan supposed to go 7-2 loss whoooo caaares, everything that comes next will be tits for sure.

I get that it is annoying to watch a mentally checked-out team mail it in, but these are pretty much no different from pre-season games at this point. Year after year we see bottom feeders becoming world-beaters at the end of the season.

Home ice would be nice, but staying healthy is the biggest thing.

I disagree. I agree staying healthy is critical, but an incredibly high percentage of teams who look at this as mail-in season and figure they will find their footing once the playoffs start end up as complete and utter roadkill in round 1.

You have to have your team starting game one at full stride and you don't get to your peak by everyone operating under the consensus that the last dozen games don't really matter. All the games matter.

It's like setting your treadmill to max speed and just limping in circles around it thinking it'll all be fine once you step on the thing.

Keefe always yammers about being ready to play after all... 🤷

This.

There's no way they weren't trying to win this game. Players aren't wired like that. Also, playing not to get hurt is a good way to get hurt.

"We don't need you"- team that could really use him, since they're likely to miss the playoffs

He's got a wife about to deliver a kid, I don't think it's health.

I don’t think the kid is here yet, but there was talk of him dealing with an injury since the Seattle game.

Staying healthy is something you need to do whether you win or lose. It's beside the point.

Home ice is very important v. Tampa.

Samsonov has said he’s hurt. Keefe acknowledged it as well. Was he bad, bad or just generally as bad as the rest of the team?

A couple of crappy bounces and some really soft Dzone play. One of those games. Not a lot of help from his teammates or luck.

Sorokin was excellent and some weak bounces helped the Islanders win. Ah well. It sucked but I mean, Islanders had something to play for. What did Montreal have to get up for the Lightning? Tampa just giving home ice away.

Tampa's cooked.

Someone on the twitter, a hockey reporter of some kind, said that he's not playing at 100%, too.

I don't remember who said it, I was mostly just scrolling and saw it go by.

But now that the entire hockey world seems to be saying exactly this, Keefe will keep (frank)ing about. We're at the part he seems to take it as a challenge to prove he knows more than everyone else. It's all one big 5 forward PP to him.

Another 4-5 games of poop show and he will give it up.

- joel878

Unfortunately true.

He did the same poop last playoffs. If numbnuts Simmons didn't ask him the stupid ass question, Holl would've been benched. And we all know how not benching that bum resulted in game 7.

Bolded- Hopefully

Losing to bad teams is the Leafs M.O.

We all knew this was coming. Especially when this is the most important game on the schedule for NYI and just a random Tuesday in March for the Leafs.
