Anyone see Benn’s game tying goal with .7 seconds left last night? Just absolutely buried Dunn with a cross check from behind puck squirts out and wide open net…

At least the hockey gods got it right but that should’ve never gone to OT…

Remember when I was skeptical about grown men who take an interest in a sport that should end at little league owning a hockey team?

I remember...but I'm going to wait and see how this is all handled in the offseason before conceding you were right hahaha and honestly I thought you just didn't like them because its known they are really into the analytics sides or things...or so I thought I read, anyway. In saying that though, if they were really into analytics then why did they stick with Planless Hextall? hahah

Oh I totally agree, you never know. Jesse Marshall on Twitter was wondering if FSG is even paying attention lol so who knows. Hex could be back to butcher another season.

Most insiders believe the sale was mostly a land deal. People wondered why the FSG paid such a premium price... well.... The sale also came with developmental rights of a huge chunk of prime real estate. I wouldn't bet on FSG being in this for the long haul.

On the filp side, it sounds like FSG is making improvements to the arena. So that's a good sign. Bigger scoreboard and some other stuff.

Even the most aloof owner would understand how badly Hextall effed things up. I think he's gone even if they make the playoffs.

In the case of Liverpool, FSG is very hands off. They benefited from hiring a really good manager who has put the club at the top of England and Europe, but now times are getting tougher for them as well.

Long story short, all 3 teams FSG owns are in some sort of problem. The Red Sox are trailing the Yankees, Liverpool is getting older and more teams are outspending them, and the Penguins have their problems. I think FSG is preparing to launch an expansion NBA team in Vegas with LeBron.

Madden last night said that everyone knows Hextall and Burke are leaving at the end of the year, including Hextall and Burke. Read into that what you will.

Rebuilding is a terrible idea. I think a lot of people here take for granted how random rebuilding is. Teams have been rebuild for half a dozen years and still arent up to par with our terrible roster. The days of getting top picks in a few straight years are over. So when the time comes for that top 3 pick, we had better nail it.

You have Crosby/Malkin playing at high levels. Your objective is to retool, not rebuild. The first thing that needs done is someone with the stomach to make the moves. I think we all agree Hextall and Burke arent it.

Yep. This 100%.

I remember being the only "Pens fan" in a heavily Pittsburgh populated college (Edinboro, PA) and I was the only one one of my friends that suffered through the Generation X phase with the likes of Richard Tarnstrom, Rico Fata, and Konstatin Koltsov. Believe me, you want to put that time period off as long as possible and enjoy watching Letang, Geno and Sid rip it up until they are done.

Most of my friends jumped in on Geno's rookie season, so they got to see some cool poop with Sid, Geno, Staal and Fleury. Eventually made them Penguins fans for life.

Side note, Crosby being voted by his fellow players as the most complete player in the NHL at 35 is pretty incredible. We better enjoy these next few years. No one close to his level likely puts on a Penguins sweater again.

They were bad years but it wasn’t that long really. 01’ the made it to the ecf. Within 4 years MAF Crosby and Malkin were all drafted. So what 4 seasons? I think a lock out year too? Short time compared to the meh the last 4 years.

What was meh? 1st in division two seasons ago? Getting into the payoffs with 10 point cushion last season?...was it the milestone nights? Or is it the first rounds exits, last year's being because of injuries in the series, that just totally negate everything else for you?

We get it man, you don't like the Pens. You don't like watching them. You don't even find hockey interesting or exciting anymore.

Hard for Rudy to only be in the lineup here and there, no doubt... But it just seemed like he was much better in the same scenarios in previous seasons. His partners could be a factor in it.

I’m speaking way too soon. But has Jarry found his game again? Honestly quality goaltending is the main thing we need to push for the playoffs.

This team is a long shot to make any sort of playoff run, but he needs to find his game AND keep healthy for us to humor anything past the first round.

Friedman for sure has past him. Fedun is also looking more serviceable.

Friedman should have been the #7 all season.
