These are good problems to have! Remember when the Leafs were doomed because they didn't match the Oilers contract and resign Zach Hyman! Good times!

- Cush29

Don't forget when they STOLE Soup. I live out here and chirp like a mother(frank)er so I got my licks with Hyman but now they are all eating crow and begging us to take him back. They even say they'll trade him for Murray. I'm like nope, he's younger, won 2 Cups, and only has a year left. (frank)ing 20 years of living amongst retarded Oiler fans.

I would have signed him last year when he was winning, to a multi year deal with a 4 in it. I ate poop on that hot take with a big spoon.

Holy frank, Zdeno Chara is running this year’s Boston Marathon.

I will set up a pool to predict his time.

My prediction?

He’s in for a franking world of hurt.

FYI, Nick Kypreos did the 2013 NYC Marathon in 4:43.

And Oprah Winfrey did the 1994 Marine Corps Marathon (Washington, DC) in 4:29:20 - now known as “The Oprah Line.”

You didn’t let them swim in the pool before their second game, did you?

He’s a workout freak. Eats clean and doesn’t drink. He’ll still be in crazy shape. I would assume he’ll blow those other stats out of the park.

A good friend of mine says you haven't really ran a proper marathon unless you do it in under 3 hours. He is 48 now and has done it in between 3:02 and 3:10 5 times last 5 years. He's starting to realize that he may never do a proper one...

I'm guessing Chara will do it in 2:58

I'm so torn on this.

I've said numerous times this year that the Islanders weren't necessarily a non-playoff team (also while saying that the acquisition of Horvat was nonsensical given the relative age of their team and there obvious and imminent rebuilding requirements). They have a lot of tenacious players who are hard on the puck and know how to play defensive hockey.

But I've probably always hated the Islanders since that 1978 series. I'd still be happy if they missed the playoffs.

Florida really should make it with the talent on that team, but it would be great if they didn't.

Pittsburgh is basically crappy Boston - older, slower, and living amidst the prediction of a downfall and playing through it - at times far better than expected. Because I'll always like Crosby, I don't really root against Pittsburgh - even though they've been an easy out in the first round for several years in a row now.

Ottawa, Washington and Buffalo I think are just too far back. I mean it's not out of the realm of possibility to close a 6 point gap in 12 games, but it's really implausible. Moneypuck gives them 0.9% for Washington, 1.1% for Ottawa and 1.8% for Buffalo. Hockey-Reference is more optimistic, giving Washington 3.5%, Ottawa 4.2% and Buffalo 7.4%.

But I think it really boils down to the 3 teams in that WC contention right now. Florida has, arguably, the easiest schedule with 7 games remaining against non-playoff teams, while the other two teams have 6 each.

Right now, you'd have to pick the Islanders and Florida. In that WC2 spot, the Islanders would be an interesting matchup for Boston, I think - although in the regular season Boston has thumped them all year. Florida has actually fared better.
