Don’t worry guys the idiot (frank)ing coach said they are going to learn from this. They are going to learn to keep things simple. They haven’t learned that in any of the other losses this is the one that they are going to learn from.

Did Philly win the cup? I can't remember but I know LA did. Also Couterier has never been traded. Quit sniffing the glue.

How did Philly obtain the 7th overall pick then to select him ?

"Baptiste wasn’t a product of McDavid’s greatness. He scored 45 goals in 64 games with the Sudbury Wolves in 2013-14 before he was traded to McDavid’s Erie Otters early last season."

Let's draft another forward top 10 and wait for him too because no possible way trading him will work for the team

Omg its been 12 years since they've been to the playoffs no way

Saying "we can't trade any prospects because they're all for sure superstars" is the most asinine thing.
- Wetbandit1

To say trading prospects for proven talent works out more often than not is the most asinine thing.

How is it possible the sabres have built a team capable of scoring with the best teams in the league by trade and draft

But it is only drafting and developing that can take us to the next level

3 of the top 5 picks of the “loaded” 2015 NHL draft have been traded.

Eichel was billed to be a superstar

Hanifin was billed to be a top 1/2 franchise D

Dylan Strome was supposed to be a high end/Mid tier 1C

Prospects always pan out guys

Imagine having this core group of NHLers when tim Murray went for it

Perhaps it would have been a bit more defense biased

Brendan Guhle and a first round pick for Brandon Montour was a trade to try and win more now

Brendan Guhle is retired, the first round pick is Brayden Tracey has 25 points in 56 games…in the AHL

Brandon Montour is currently on pace for 70 points

Baptiste, Bailey, and Luke Adam never did what Quinn, Peterka, or Kulich did at the AHL level at their respective ages.

Yet I’m the dunce ?

- Swedish_Jesus

Yes, yes you are.

Peterka had 28 in 70 in the AHL as an old 19, basically 20 year old having a January birthday.

Quinn had 26 in 45 in the AHL as a 20 year old.

Adam had 29 in 57 in the AHL as a 20 year old.

.4 to .57 to .51 goals per game. Not a massive difference between Adam and Quinn. It's 5 goals over 82 games. Which a good player can easily get just from empty netters. 18 guys currently have at least 4 this year Guentzel has 7. Ovechkin had 9 last year.

Stamkos, Hedman, Kucherov, Point, Vasilesky, Killorn, Palat, Tyler Johnson, Yanni Gourde.

All drafted or undrafted free agents.

I’m assuming some of those guys should have been traded for players to help the Lightning win sooner ?

- TheSabresTaco

The Sabres are literally having the exact same season the Devils had last year.

Will they make the same jump? Remains to be seen, but going from -40 goals saved below expected to average goaltending alone will do wonders for them.

Just find a goalie.
