When you score a goal, offensive-zone play ends. No rebounds. No continued cycle. No offensive zone faceoff. Score 30 seconds into a PP? That's 90 seconds "lost" of high-danger shooting opportunities.It's counterintuitive but scoring a lot like this actually *hurts* your xG numbers. It's an outlier situation.

But, no one is debating whether we played well. We (frank)ing crushed 2 straight opponents. The debate is whether or not analytics are fundamentally flawed when they don't reflect this fact plainly.
Tom put up some charts, said he enjoyed watching the games and not much else. I've not read any comments from anyone saying they're not thrilled with our current play.

What may save the penguins is the schedule. Last 3 games for them are Detroit CBJ and Chicago. But man would I love to see them miss the playoffs
