I'm watching the Leaf broadcast because I'm a masochist, but I've always liked Brind'Amour's Canes. They are so aggressive, their forecheck is relentless, their D is well positioned and they _work_. They have grit and size - but really outside of Necas and Svechnikov, they don't have a lot of finesse. I can see why they were pretty hot for a guy like Nylander.

He has 9 points in 6 games - which is great for him. I didn't really understand the trade - other than perhaps finding Sandin a good opportunity since he was now down on the depth chart to #7 or worse. Washington is letting him just go, and good for him. But he's still got a ways to go in learning how to defend.
