In KD’s tank calculation, I guess he didn’t foresee (as I believe no one did) how pathetic Columbus has been this year, especially when they landed the “big prize” FA of the offseason Goudreau.

Guess everyone is seeing the over rated nature of this player.

He's no Patrick Kane like many made him out to be when he became a FA

Agree….

How can they be worst than the Hawks with both Laine and Gaudreau?

The two of them combined should have more points than the entire Hawks forwards….

Now that’s tanking…..

At this point I’m just hoping we finish below SJ. Besides Karlson on D, they’re forward group arguably is just as bad as the Hawks….

Pick no later than 4 OA…..

Unless CLB goes on a three game heater, possible not probable…

Exhale….

I think these are the type of pros that KD will avoid bringing into the org. Even if CBJ wins the Bedard sweepstakes it really doesn't matter with that gm and inability to keep talent, kind of like McDavid going to the Oil, a waste

Yo LA, I know I'm way way ahead of myself but after digesting how well Kaiser looked last night I wonder if that will have any affect on how KD and staff proceeds with Korchinski next yr?

I'm assuming Korchinski will get the Shane Wright path of 9 games up, an AHL rehab stint, the WJC, WC and back to jrs but will Kaiser's role on the NHL roster, if he makes it along with maybe Vlasic and Phillips, have an affect on Korchinski?

UPDATED (Damn Ducks lost to Nucks Sunday night)

Potential? Possible? Likely? Winnable? games:
Jackets - none
Sharks - at Vancouver, at Arizona
Ducks - at Arizona, Vancouver
Blackhawks - Vancouver, at Vancouver, Philly
Canadiens - Columbus, at Philly
Flyers - Columbus

Games against the Canucks will have a major effect on the "Bad for Bedard" sweepstakes.

Final standings (in reverse)
32) Jackets 49 points
31) Sharks 56 points
30) Hawks 60 points (tiebreaker Hawks beat Ducks once)
29) Ducks 60 points (tiebreaker Ducks beat Hawks twice)
28) Flyers 64 points
27) Canadiens 64 points (tiebreaker Canadiens beat Philly twice)

Also at year end teams firmly in the playoffs with their seeding set may take their foot off the gas and play back up goalies and a few callups. So that is always a factor in predictability.

I think Korchinski gets the Wright/Brandt Clark treatment. I think Kaiser plays next year, he comes in more advanced than where Vlasic was when he signed , who I think Vlasic is with the big club. Phillips/Roos/ Mitchell battle for the seventh spot.

You might see Zaitsev being waived and playing for the Rock next year, too many bodies on D. I think C. Jones rights get traded for a pick at the draft, and the Hawks sign Tinordi as the teams policeman.

Very plausible everything projected. My ADD is Murphy is traded at trade deadline but at best only a #3 round. I suspect that Vlasic could start in the AHL but will be recalled and stay here. Right now it is difficult to assess if Phillips or Roos can improve or take the next step
