I think the injury list might actually have been shorter had the team been in a more "regular" context, fighting for a playoffs spot for example. they might have implemented some sort of "zero risk policy", where injured players are asked to be actually 100% healed from an injury before coming back, because taking any risks to aggravate something isn't currently worth it at all.

I dunno, I'm just trying to understand as I'm baffled by how (frank)ed up the team has been physically this year lol.

We're leading the league in games missed for the 2nd year in a row.

There's obviously some problem with how we handle our injuries.

Or our players are made of glass.

tbh I'm not even sure he should have returned from his previous injury.
he had a few rough ones since returning. what's the point of having him in the lineup if he's not 100%?

- fidopro

Agreed. All hands on deck for next season. Enough of this lottery garbage

When you are losing that bad, and you have a guy with injury history this year, I do not see the point in sending him back out there.

This game meant nothing.

Why push it?

Caufield, Dach, Slaf, Xhekaj, Dvorak... I don't think any of those guys had a serious injury history... Dach had a bad wrist injury but it isn't related to that right now.

I heard in Guhle's case he's putting pressure on the medical staff to play. Good on the kid for being a warrior but it may not be in his best interest long term. Apparently he's wearing braces on both knees

Dach surely did, part of the reason Chicago traded him.

I can't tell about the others, but it started in junior and in the AHL for Guhle.

Well Caufield, Slaf and Xhekaj are younger so the data is limited. I look at Dach, 64gp, 18gp, 70gp and now 54 it's not great.

Injuries will happen, I was just saying that they did bring in guys are more prone to injuries in the last couple of years not that they are all fragile female genitalias.

They made the same mistake with Monahan. Gallagher is so broken down at this point but would be another case.

Injuries happen.

It is what the Habs training staff is doing / teaching the players to minimize those (conditioning and training) and then what the medical staff are doing once injuries happen.

Broken record, I know.

But (frank), something is wrong with how the Habs are going about this problem.

Denis Gauthier said something last night I agree with. he said results like last night, we should have seen plenty this season but we didn't. it's a miracle, mainly because our goalies played great. back to reality.

The really important part for them is the they don't tell us what the injuries are.

I don't think this is a case of goalies masking the team's weaknesses like when Price was there, the team is also scoring goals, and the dcore has often been playing great.

at this point, there are too many AHL players in the line up for them to compete, night in and night out

Broken record here, but look at the god damn centres line on the current roster

But do we need to know?

Does it make a difference?

I really do not care if they give the details of the injury, just that when the player comes back, they are 100% ready to go.

while I tend towards that same conclusion, I have a hard time believing their medical staff is that incompetent, holy.

there might be a mix of both, bad injury/recovery management vs pure bad luck, the question is what ratio is shared betweem both lol.

Personally I'd like to know because i'm curious, they do it in the NFL and it's a pretty physical league but they act like Radko Gudas is hiding around every corner waiting to slash someone on his injured wrist.

I think they should protect the players as much as they can vs the fans being curious. Players have been targeted in the current past when the word is out on their injuries.

The problem, or so it seems right now, is that the medical staff is not telling the players no when they want to play and are not ready to go.
