You guys have me wanting to give this place a look before my next game. I was settled on NY Pizza Suprema but this place should be doable depending on what time i make it into Penn.

What does everyone think about the QMJHL's plan to ban fighting beginning next year?

Fighting is already banned for all of youth hockey. It’s not allowed in the NCAA. It’s the direction the hockey world has been heading for quite some time.

I don’t want to see the physicality aspect go away, but it is what it is.

NY is 6-2-1 in their last 9 games.... we should be proud of that. Feels like just a week ago we were talking about their brutal record around the trade deadline

They don't want the financial responsibility of allowing 16 and 17 year old's to engage in bare knuckle combat. It's smart on their end.

I think youth hockey and major juniors is wildly different, though. Fighting was never allowed in youth hockey for as long as I could remember until you got to juniors. And I am pretty sure junior hockey still has fighting, even the lower levels like I played lol.

I did always find it interesting that the NCAA was the only ones that didn't allow fighting. I wonder if it has something to do with the schools...idk. But I think taking fighting out of the game at the higher levels like juniors and above is a bad move. The game needs to be policed by the players to a degree.

I'm from LI.

I don't typically do pizza when I'm in NYC/Manhattan. I tend to do Chinese/Korean etc. There's some really good spots near Penn/MSG.

Idk how subway ready you are, but from Penn/Moynihan you can take the 1,2,3 uptown one stop to Times Square. Will take you 3 minutes tops and Joe’s is just around the corner from the station.

Definitely worth the effort.

I've been using the subway monthly for over a year due to doctors visits. I have it pretty down. I've also used it often over the last 10+ years for the same reason, just a lot more recently.

Did they ban it? Yes or no? You're literally on the wrong side of a fact.

Gotcha. Have any hidden Chinese or Korean restaurant gems we should know about?

If anyone is a ramen fan, Wagamama is fantastic and close to MSG.

Has the Q ever been sued/held financially responsible for a fight? Slowly but surely we’re going to turn into womens hockey with no hitting etc. It’s part of the game, stop changing the game

Honestly could care less about the Q banning fighting. Never watched a game. As long as its still in the NHL, i'm good

It will slowly continue to spread until it’s taken out of the game. I put it in the last blog but then a new blog got put up so not sure who saw it, but I read an article that to keep up with the wokeness taking over sports the NHL wants to start using female refs but are afraid they won’t be able to break up the scrums/fights. Guess how u use female refs …….

I rarely, if at all watch the games too. However, I think it goes a bit further than that. It could have a ripple effect if other leagues follow suit. If all major junior leagues ban fighting, it will absolutely have an effect on the game. It may not be next season, but it will be sooner than later unfortunately.

I don't care if there is a women ref. If you're a good referee and earned your stripes, good for you. But you run the risk that every other ref runs, which is getting caught with a hook breaking up a fight. You don't change the game because of the refs.

Meh, I will worry about it when it gets to the NHL. As for the refs I wish there were women refs in that Minny/Blues game the other night. Would have had an awesome goalie fight
