We were/are having issues with team defense. The defenseman aren’t as bad as they’ve looked and Shesty isn’t playing at an all world level like he was last year. Once we added Tarasenko, we should’ve looked elsewhere to make the team more complete. Although I will say Tarasenko hasn’t been nearly as bad as advertised in his own zone. You can have a player like Kane, but I feel he’s redundant on this roster with more important issues I think should’ve been addressed with a different “type” of player. Kane would’ve been what the 2015 team needed, a team full of heart and soul guys that needed an elite talent to put them over the top. IMO, this team is the opposite of that team. Full of top end talent (Panarin, Tarasenko, Zibanejad, Fox etc) but missing some of those other types of players. When u look back at those Torts teams, they weren’t the most talented, but nobody worked/played harder than those guys. My fear with this team come playoff time, is when we’re trying to defend a 1 goal lead, or even a 2 goal lead going into the 3rd, do we have the pieces necessary to shut a team down for a period? Based on the team defense as it is now, I don’t think so. And I’m not saying that’s because of Kane, it was a problem before he got here, but I feel like we had an opportunity to address it, (and some will say we did with Motte), but I still feel like we needed a more responsible 2-way guy in the top 6.

You know me about being tougher. I’d clamor for that for years, year after year. Bickell remember? I was on board for Jeannot. But I think you fail to see the game/league changing to more of a speed team, or skill team winning. Colorado didn’t win by banging everyone into the front row. Teams wanna take liberties with us? Go right the fkahead, we’ll score PP goal after PP goal on you and you’ll lose. Kane gives us a legit threat on every line, you guys are just too stubborn to realize it 🤷🏻‍♂️

I mean I'm not a Jets fan. Giants are who I root for. So the QB situation there/here is worse. Which is nuts. But I don't have to worry about Daniel Jones doing Ayahuasca and then retreating into a darkness zone for 4 days. So there is that.
