This (frank)ing rodent is straight up incapable of admitting he's wrong about something.

Literally everyone in the league saying it's trash and needs to be fixed, but this buffoon wants to keep it the same.

Anyone can get a sponsorship if they play for the Leafs.

Nashville has a live band in the Intermission.

Waaaaaaay more fun than what we do.

- Atomic Wedgie

Was that your first time there?
What did you think about the experience?
I love it here compared to the Keybank Center.

He's going to be a legend when he retires with 1100 games under his belt a 700 career points.

Not quite, Mike Johnson likes it, and so do I. It's a great format, and Bettman is right. People just like to complain.

You want the Rangers instead of Tampa?

I really don't think it matters all that much.

Last year you guys would have got Boston in round 1 instead of Tampa. Are you really that eager for Boston again?

14 games left. Would be nice that an 82 game schedule would mean you were actually able to catch Carolina and NJ and face one of the WC teams which both look to be very average teams.

It’s such a long season, make it worth something. These games are useless for the leafs and TB down the stretch. 1 more home game yada yada who cares.

Yes. There are no easy first round matchups, even really flawed teams like the Pens or Islanders can pull show (frank)ing rabbits out of their asses. A second round loss or a first round loss is just symbolic at this point.

Here is the thing though, Gary isn't actually making ANY of these decisions, it's the GM's, Owners etc. he is just the talking head that executes their decisions and desires for them. I do dislike Bettman because he comes across as a schmary, know it all, weasel like lawyer and seems to relish being the bad guy a bit too much but end of the day he's just the executioner not the guy who gave the thumbs down or the 'off with his head' command.

Also I hate the current playoff format, I can only guess those who most heavily influence the decision around this want to stay status quo for some business like reason (i.e. reduced travel costs etc)?

I'd love Boston again. Win or lose, it's a great storyline. Same with Tampa. The divisional rematches are the best. That's why I love the playoff format and am glad it's not going to change, hopefully ever.

Say you make up the 6 point differential between the Leafs and New Jersey. Your reward is... The Tampa Bay Lightning.

Exactly. Everyone saying the games don't mean anything because of the way the standings happen to have shaped up this year, easy solution is just don't watch the games and do something else you're interested in.

They have a game in hand, they win tonight and they are 4 back of NJD and 6 of CAR who have lost Svech(do not care if they won last night that hurts a lot)

Its the fact that the last 20 games there is nothing to play for. They could absolutely catch Carolina or NJ.

The season is too damn long to not have something to play for.

You'd say the same thing if it was 1 VS 8.

I'm also here to talk hockey. I think that any team that has speed and size is gonna look to expose the lack of mobility of a group like this. Any thoughts?
- Load Management

I don't see things quite as cut and dry when it comes to the mobility/speed of the D.

I always stand behind being positionally sound first. Also, using Schenn as an example, adding physicality with sound positioning can make fast opponents slow down a bit since no one wants to take a hit when they're going full speed.

Besides that, Rielly, Brodie, McCabe, Gustafson or Lilyjigren are not known as slow...even though one of our faster D, Rielly, gets beat all the time for being out of position.

Basically, positioning > speed to me when it comes to D.

Say Carolina falters and goes 9-7-0 the rest of the way.

You guys would have to go 13-3-0 to catch them.

Does that seem likely?
