Onto D pairings. With so many of them what are the pairings looking to end up looking like? I’m guessing matching up against ops will factor into it. Thx

Ya for me too and I watch all the games.

Not sure I've seen him with that combo yet, but it seems like the best fit for the playoffs IMO.

I'm also here to talk hockey. I think that any team that has speed and size is gonna look to expose the lack of mobility of a group like this. Any thoughts?

Watched many games but not really tracking the pairings. Looks a lot like plenty of experimenting leading up to the PO’s. Imo better to start setting up pairings for chemistry & less juggling & use depth as needed.

Considering the leafs are a top 5 defensive team by metrics this year I would think you're wrong.

EDIT: Also considering you've openly told me you hate the leafs, that this question is based around something about the leafs being bad at, I think you're trying to low key troll so consider this your second and final warning.

I said it before and I'll say it again. The sum of it's pieces don't work together. There's quality players on the team but for whatever reason it hasn't come together. Similar to the leafs when they had Kessel/Phaneuf and Co. Good to great players but it didn't work. Moving Horvat was the first move. I think bringing in Hronek, while a good D, was premature. Should have let the year play out and see what's up at the draft.

As for Keefe. Nobody knows man. Nobody has real thoughts because it all depends on what happens and to be fair, I wouldn't be surprised if he's fired or kept.

Metrics are arguable. A puck possession team like the Leafs can skew metrics. Not a negative at all. The PO’s are entirely a different beast & all about results. When ice space & time tightens up that’ll be when teams show more true metrics. Just my way of thinking. Last thing I want is a Canes/Minny final lol

If "playoffs are a different beast" and "all about results" how can we know what this years team does there without being in the playoffs? It's a question with zero answers.

They're different. Pretty much why everyone can almost taste the champagne. I mean Matthews isn't even carrying them, it's a total team effort.

Never know how I’m received in here. It’s all over the map tbh. Just glad it’s not all reffing & witch hunting. Off night is better in here.

On Keefe I just don’t get any solid read on him. Like playing poker he’s a tough one. Also his coaches I know nothing of. Priority is getting the pairings set & sooner the better to get on a good run going into the PO’s. Big believer in getting on a roll for the PO’s springboards teams.

At no point have I ever said I hate the Leafs. Find it. I'm here to see what the opinion is on the D corps and participate in civil discussions. I watched them live a couple of weeks ago and am sharing an observation. Any problem from here on out is yours.
