This year/off-season is still flushing out the roster and identifying team needs/development.

I think next off-season (2024) will be when really big things happen.

- Mashadar

They still need 2 or 3 years to be competitive once again.

If things go well.

They dont even know who to play with Suzuki and Caufield as we speak.

Dach still has to learn to be a legit top 6 centre. And stay healthy next season. Even then, you need some wingers to step up and play in that top 6 role.

They have a lot of good young defensemen, but no clear quaterback for the pp. It has been a problem since Markov left and that has been a while now. And they pretty much all play on the god damn left side other than Barron...

Who will be the god damn number one goalie? Montembaum? Who knows.

... will use the Habs to get a better contract elsewhere.

Hes a RFA this summer, not a UFA. It changes things.

You can still be a winner without the loser points.

So far the new gig looks fun! But it's my 2nd day, it probably takes a good 3 months to get a real feel of the place and you have to go live a full cycle before knowing if you'll like it but so far I'm optomistic.

Most of the time (not always), I find it is the people not the actual work that tends to make the difference.

Zona is ahead of the Habs and the Habs still have a tough sked compared to the other bottom feeders. Only easier teams the Habs face are the BJ's and Philly.

Andrei Svechnikov will have season-ending knee surgery on Thursday. Huge loss for the #hurricanes.
