Welp, don't want to get into the politics ring, but if WWIII breaks out, not sure the NHL will be playing. I'm hoping the war ends sooner then later, there are no winners. As far as Michkov, I have not read any statement from him suggesting NHL is not a possibility.

This is my point, where has Michkov said he would never leave the KHL. I cannot find any statement. In theory, him staying over seas for 2 years fits into the rebuild nicely. IMO, the reason why he may not be a top 5 is because of politics (not suggesting you were implying).

The good news is Fletcher is gone and you can have hope that the new person makes a couple draft trades like Chicago did last year. Man I'd love to see that again. Davidson just sold off anything he didn't draft or want. Dach is a decent player and young and told him to GTFO.

This should have happened 2 years ago. Last year at the very latest. Now the flyers have 1...only 1... draft pick I'm the first 2 rounds of a deep, deep draft. It pissed me off how badly they have screwed this team and these fans out of progress towards being a good team again.

I feel bad for briere for having to sell everybody of value.. he has inherited the terd of all terds.

He signed a 5-year deal with SKA that runs until 2026.

He has a very good rep around the league for the most part...especially north of the border for some reason. Perhaps cause he won them WJ gold and has been compared to Carey Price.

Yeah, the junior shine probably hasn't worn off yet.

Mason had a nice junior career, won U20 gold, won the Calder, and by age 24 was traded for a 3rd + Leighton.

That and goalies just don't seem to hold the same value in trades.

Yeah. Alf mentioned Schneider fetching a top-10 pick... guy had almost a career .930 SV% at the time. Slam dunk franchise goalie.

Hart's down near .900 again despite the ridiculous start to the season he had. Was at like 30+ goals saved above expected... now in the single digits after a lot of weaker goals in the past few months.

You'd have to really believe he's just being held back by the Flyers to be trading multiple assets for him.

It isn't about Michkov not wanting to come to the NHL. It's about the unstable condition in his country. It won't be politics if he falls out of the top 5. It will be the doubt of his availability.

Let's hope the poor guy doesn't go down the Steve Mason path although he was very good for the Flyers in the 2014 playoff series against the Rags. He was basically the only reason that the Flyers stayed in that series.

And how is Briere going to get these draft picks from other teams? Unless the Flyers are trading Hart, Provorov or TK, I don't see any way Briere can get more 1st or 2nd round picks in this draft.
