Next year becomes a huge season for Farabee. Will give him a pass this year coming off the injury. But he has 20+ game goal scoring droughts next season he becomes yet another albatross on the books.

Agree, be patient and hope, don't sell low. It could be he bounces back and then you can hold or move him

Awful news for them and Roddy B. That just sux bad. I was looking forward to seeing how far they could go. At this point, they're likely out in the first round against the Rags.

After what we’ve all been through, the skepticism is justified. Talk is cheap. Most of us are not encouraged by the retention of Flahr as he has been part of the problematic front office. We are tired of platitudes and cliches such as “culture” “hard to play against” and “the right way.”

There needs to be a PLAN and that plan needs to be executed. Only time and actions will tell if there is a plan, whether it’s a good plan, and whether it is executed well.

Step 1, Fire Fletcher is complete. Now let’s see what the next steps actually are. However, at this point there’s really not much that can be done on the ice for a while. The draft is a few months away so Briere is either going to keep the status quo or he’s going to make his front office moves in advance so people can get acclimated and ready for the off-season, something that should already have the chess pieces moving, at least in the Flyers front office.

Totally agree, but Flahr wasn't the one in charge, CF was (had 2 titles)
Flahr hast done a good job at drafting, although I wonder who's decision it was to trade down instead of taking Caufield - when the team is in such need of offense. Don't get me wrong, I love York, just wondering what these guys are thinking when overlooking a future 30 goal scorer.
We need to hear what Briere's plan is, then we'll know more. I doubt he'll publicize it. We may not find out until the POHO is hired. Please, do not hire Ed Olzyk. He's not the answer, and he isn't a great analyst either.

They passed over a really good defenseman to take Gauthier. They draft BPA.

Heavens no on Ed Olzyk. I'll die laughing. Where have you heard that at?

Really nice to see Sean Couturier speak to the media. I never thought I’d be so happy to see him speak. He looked really happy…though Torts claims he’s losing his mind and he avoids him because he’s so miserable…

Anyone here screaming “trade him” or “burn him with fire” just because Coots called Fletcher a great hockey mind?

Exactly the reason why Fletcher couldn’t be allowed to make the next pick in the upcoming draft.

Torts almost was biting his tongue before he started, but he clearly stated that Frost was not showing chemistry with Tippet consistently and was thinking of moving Hayes back to center. It was clearly not a ringing endorsement of Frost from Torts, in fact to me he was stating that Frost was holding Tippet's production back. Watch it again, it was pretty clear to me what was said.

I just watched “the staircase” on Netflix and couldn’t help but get John Tortorella vibes from the lawyer

How many of you were in that…whatever the hell that was on “crossing broad” video they put out to get Comcast to sell. Sheesh.

I’ve got news for anyone in Philly. Nobody outside of Philly is taking that serious. Yuck!

They do draft BPA and that comes with an understanding that it's not what player you think was the best player. It's who they think is the best player.

Again, that is not accurate. He was actually talking about Tippet and how he doesn't want him to be a one on one player. He wants to be more of a give and go player and to work off of other players. Tortorella said he doesn't know if he can do that with Frost or another player and that he was thinking about trying Hayes in that spot. It was about chemistry between players and not really a criticism of any player. If you watch with a bias, you hear what you want to hear.
- MJL

My point is it was not a ringing endorsement of Frost. He said specifically Frost has not been able to play give and go with Tippet consistently. There is that word again when it comes to Frost, consistency. Just telling you what I think will happen, that Frost will not be on Tort's list of players to move forward with and will be traded in the off season. Which BTW may not be a bad thing for Frost, since I recall Craig Button stated last year that he thought Frost will be a good player, but with another team.

Again, that is not correct. You're phrasing it as if he was criticizing Frost. He was not. Your characterizing the statement incorrectly and using it as fodder for your belief that Frost will be traded by the Flyers. If it was a criticism of anybody. It was a criticism of Tippet, but it was not that either. It was about chemistry between players and not about one player.

You have to keep Frost at least another year. The team is not going anywhere next year. I think he has another level or two in him. Unless he is part of a bigger trade I'm keeping him.

Then you don’t have to keep him. If they get good value offered in picks for him I wouldn’t say no no no we have to keep him. They need to do what’s right for the future. Not just next year.

Would you expect to get a 1st round pick for him? Then it would depend on what team. Anything less, what's the point?

Torts made comments about Hayes not scoring so he switched his positions up front. He also named JvR and Farabee as guys not scoring. Could this have anything to do with Torts starting Noah Cates, Rasmus Ristolainen and rookie Tyson Foerster on the power play? Seems a little silly to point out that our scorers aren’t scoring but you’re not putting them in scoring situations.

As per the transcript on YouTube:

"I've moved Kevin back to the middle uh I may try him with Kevin tonight if I don't like what what's happening offensively"

Moved, as in past tense. Hayes was already in the middle.

BTW, you watching Frost tonight? He's playing well. Probably not tho, since we burst the bubble on your claim that you watch every single game.

To be fair, in past games when they’ve introduced the players on the top of the screen two minutes into the game, they’ve shown Hayes on RW when he’s at center when Desnoyers was in the line up.

Did you find the part in the transcript where it said according to jd250 that "Torts once again called out Frost as not being good enough to play with Tippet consistently"? Or how about where Torts said according to jd250 that Frost was holding Tippet's production back?

Torts is looking for someone to play with Tippett, whether it be Hayes or whether it be Frost. Nothing more, nothing less.
