The trend where he starts out hot and fades has to be concerning for any potential trade partner (and the Flyers):

22-23

Oct .938
Nov .901
Dec .900
Jan .911
Feb .888
Mar .893

21-22

Oct .915
Nov .924
Dec .911
Jan .902
Feb .901
Mar .903
Apr .821

Stanley Cup isn't won in October/November after all.

You didn’t even notice him in the game against the Flyers either lol
- ClaudeFather

You didn't really watch the game then.

He made a number of offensive and NZ defensive plays. IIRC a couple of rips from the point too.

Honestly, he still has to work hard to reach the level Mase played at in Philly.

https://www.nhl.com/stats...t=wins&page=0&pageSize=50

Hart is 79-82-26 with a .905 SV%.

As a Flyer, Mason went 100-76-36 with a .917 SV%.

- Feanor

I think that is more on the team than Hart. As mediocre as those Mason Flyers teams were, they still had at least three forwards that are a lot better than anyone who put on the Flyers jersey this year.

Hart has been very good this year on a terrible team. I believe he will only get better. For the record I believed that all along. But he will not get the stats everyone wants to see until the team in front of him adds significant talent.

It’s hockey man, the puck goes back and forth, everyone makes a few plays. Especially against a bad team

I was looking more at it like he and mason both came into the league young on poor teams. Mason had all the promise but then got beat down mentally. descent numbers but not record breaking.

Depending on how it shakes out. I think Toronto would win a 7 game series against NJ.

Possibly. My dark horse in the East is still Tampa. When you’ve had the playoff success they’ve had the last 3 years, you can’t rule them out. If Vasi gets hot and all of Stankos, Point, Kucherov and Hedman are healthy, they are still a scary team.

Sure, they haven’t had a great regular season (by their standards), but I think that’s pretty meaningless once they reach the playoffs.

Torts is absolutely safe for 23-24 as it’s the last year of AV’s deal and Crapcast isn’t going to pay 9 million for 2 coaches to sit at home.

After that he could be gone at any time.

- BiggE

Comcast doesn't care about the $. They'll just pass that cost on to tickets/concessions, or add a couple of pennies to everybody's cable bill.

We're talking about the same people who paid Bryz how many millions to go away?

Did you notice that the Flyers lost out on eight draft picks by trading him when they did?

Or that the Flyers have the league's 29th best record since moving Ghost and Voracek to change the culture in summer of 2021? They only have two more points than Chicago who have been actively tanking.

That had to trigger the GM firing right then and there, not drag it till the fans' revolt.

I would also argue that later in the season is when the good teams start playing like good teams. Look at the Flyers GF over the last month and then look at who they played. A lot of teams contending for the playoffs. The data is showing that the Flyers lack of talent is really starting to show in the results.

Of course every player can get better. I think the last two years some of that is on Hart. I believe this year he is focused and playing very well but you will still see a dip. This team is really very bad.

No doubt, but since no one in the Atlantic is going to catch them for 3rd, they have the luxury of holding guys out and resting vets.

I have to think that, deep down, the Leafs are going to be very nervous facing them in round one.

His goals saved above expected numbers are dropping like a rock too. You can't just chalk it all up to having a bad team in front of him. He's not making tough saves at the same rate he was earlier in the season. And he's letting in more stoppable pucks as the season goes on too.

Ullmark was still putting up .915+ behind the Sabres team D led by a soccer coach.

He will not have record breaking numbers with this team. This team is terrible.

What could Hart have done better in yesterday's game?

TB has played a ton of hockey the last 3 years. Not sure if they would have enough gas in the tank to get through another deep playoff run.

Anybody is crazy to bet against TBay….all they do is win. The East is a beast this year.

He played very well that season. But I do not recall his numbers being overwhelmingly great. He was just the best rookie that year.

the power has shifted the last couple years from the west to the east. over the next 5-10 years, the east will be very competitive.

I like Hart. But he has not proven to be elite, at least not yet. I think under the circumstances it’s probably best for his career that the Flyers move on. He’s done everything he can here and a poor team in front of him, sometimes pathetic, has hurt his development in my opinion.

It really has….even the Rangers could go on a run if they get hot and Shesterkan (sp) can get back last years mojo….I do wonder with the make up of that team can they stay healthy?
