Fair enough.
Maybe I was projecting on you from the whole atmosphere here. But, what constantly irks me about this board is people female doging about every single mistake or missed opportunity. As if the players are supposed to be perfect playing against other really good teams. And make no mistake even the worst teams in the NHL are REALLY GOOD. The worst players in the league are still REALLY GOOD and have the potential to make REALLY GOOD plays at any given time.
One thing I noticed yesterday was that Pitt had the puck luck in their favour almost the entire game. Even when we pushed back, all the bounces were going against us. We only prospered when things went perfectly. That is not always the case. (ie, 12 points in last poor 12 games).

What I can't believe is that Lindgren is this important. 1 injury to a non-star player can't stunt you season.

Almost nobody on this team is playing well, it's insane. This weekend despite getting 3 out of 4 points, was some of the worst hockey they've played all year.

The rangers have plenty of flaws that can be.Let’s not blame the D only. It’s all 6 players on the ice. How about clogging center ice, forwards, and stop backing in giving up the blue line. I know the players see it but they need to do it. 4th line have looked really good.

Lets face it, all teams have ups and downs thru the season, the Rangers right now are on a down swing. Hopefully they can turn it around and find chemistry by the time the playoffs start. They have the talent, thats for sure but can this talent play playoff hockey will be the question. 5x5 hockey is the area the Rangers have been lacking the past few years, 140 games or so, can they turn it around in 20 games??

It’s amazing how little confidence this team garners from its fans. It’s a friggin shame. It’s like deja vu from last years blogs

2-0-1 in my current prediction

Bc when you look at the context and details they don’t really add up to be a successful team. Last year they got far on opportunistic goals and elite goaltending. If they actually played like the bruins devils and canes with the same results fans would be raving about them. Their play doesn’t match the wins. It’s worrisome

I can't say it any better than this. So I'll just quote it and whole heartedly agree.

And it was true. It can happen one time. Consistently winning this way isn’t really sustainable. Look at the capitals after they won. Haven’t been back since. Not good 5v5 but was carried by their PP all year. Long term success isn’t built that way

Now factor it their PP is down 3% from last year and Igor down 2.5%. Answer is right there as to why.

3 game road trip
3rd game in 4 nights, all games into OT
Playing in a difficult barn on national TV
Starting our backup goalie

STILL GOT A POINT! ( and 5 out of 6 for the road trip )

I’ll take these points and run all day. Doesn’t change the fact the team has to improve 5v5 and defensively to go far in the playoffs. Coach and the players have to figure it out

You know what we have on our side this year that we didn’t last year? Collective playoff experience. 20 games I think it was? Won two game 7s. BUT obviously it means nothing because we lost in OT to Pittsburgh in March

Never said that playoff experience won’t help. All I said is how they are playing now they aren’t good enough to win a cup. Hopefully just a slump. Have no issue praising them when they are playing well. Just like the 4tb line was their best line last night. Trouba has been their best defenseman the past two weeks. Overall they look way worse than the bruins canes and devils. Tampa fans are probably saying the same thing about their squad recently as well

You said Trouba has been good!

Nobody said 6-0 either. Just be the dominant team that controls play and doesn’t play the puck in their zone like a grenade.

They are in a slump for sure. They have probably dominated 90% of their games this season tho

How have they played to inspire confidence??

What was your last prediction?? 8-2? I think they are 1-3 since you made that prediction.

Carolina is also still in 1st place in the Metro, 10 points better than the Rangers, with a game in hand. So there is all that.

Dominated games doesn't result in wins in the regular season or playoffs.

And all of this is absolutely correct.
We are not a sound from top to bottom, dominate play sort of team this season. Not many are saying we are. But, we are an exciting, counter-punching, get better as the game wears on type of team. And that sort can catch fire at the right time and exceed reasonable expectations.
That's the kind of ride I'm hoping for and trying to enjoy the good moments along the way.
To me, this makes the most sense as a sports fan who has only emotional skin in the game. To each his own.
Let's Go Rangers!!!

Winners are defined how they play, they dont make excuses. National TV?? Really?? I didnt know this was the first time the Rangers played on National TV. Do you think they were more worries about their make up than playing the game??? WTF???

Our back up goalie has been out playing our starting goalie!!

Using the 3rd game in 4 nights really isnt an excuse cause they just came back from 4 days off.

Can you think of any more excuses?? Perhaps they had a little anal leakage???

It’s impossible in any sport to bring your best every game. Slumps happen, collective slumps happen, bad games happen, etc. They barely had 20 guys on the bench in the last month it seems like. It’s almost a panic right now and it’s a bit crazy. They have 5 home game in a row now which should bring out their best. 4 straight roads games and they got 5 pts, and based on the way they played was probably fortunate. But they did it and it’s not as bad as y’all make it out to be because they managed to get those important pts

I swear I feel like we are the Flyers sometimes. Imaging being a fan of that imitation of a sports franchise right now?
